Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that during her tenure as Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van has made many contributions to the development of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Vietnam; helping the Cultural Subcommittee achieve many successes.

As an “extended arm” of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, former Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van has made positive contributions to the process of Vietnam preparing heritage dossiers to submit to UNESCO. In particular, former Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van has made many contributions when Vietnam was elected for the second time as a member of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 UNESCO Convention, term 2022 - 2026.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that Vietnam's membership in the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the 2003 Convention is of great significance, affirming Vietnam's increasingly high position and prestige in the international arena; demonstrating the international community's trust in our country's ability to contribute and its management capacity in global multilateral institutions. At the same time, this is a recognition of Vietnam's contributions in its relations with UNESCO in preserving, conserving and promoting the values of cultural heritage.
The Deputy Minister hoped that despite taking on the new task of acting Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Ms. Le Thi Hong Van would continue to make positive contributions to the development of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Vietnam; clearly demonstrating her role as a bridge between relevant units of Vietnam and UNESCO, contributing to spreading the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage in the international arena.

Former Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO, Acting Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO Le Thi Hong Van respectfully thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the recognition given to her. Ms. Le Thi Hong Van affirmed that the positive achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times at UNESCO have a strong "rear" which is the Cultural Subcommittee.
Ms. Le Thi Hong Van said that in recent times, the Cultural Subcommittee (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has actively implemented cultural cooperation activities, contributing to affirming the role and position of Vietnam in the UNESCO mechanism. Among these successes, it is necessary to mention the close direction of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Hoang Dao Cuong.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Van hopes that in the coming time, the Cultural Subcommittee will continue to actively carry out its tasks, contributing to the overall success of UNESCO's activities; closely coordinate with the Secretariat of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO in carrying out its tasks; coordinate with localities and relevant departments and branches to build dossiers of historical-cultural relics, scenic spots, and typical intangible cultural heritages of Vietnam to submit to UNESCO.
Besides, fully perform Vietnam's membership obligations at UNESCO Conventions, organizations and forums related to UNESCO in the region and internationally.
At the same time, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van affirmed that no matter what position she holds, she will personally strive to contribute to the overall development of the Vietnamese Culture, Sports and Tourism sector.
