(To Quoc) - The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Victory Day in Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025).
On February 21st, in Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province held a press conference to announce the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025. Lasting five days, from March 9th to 13th, the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 will have many new features compared to previous editions. According to Mr. Tran Hong Tien, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, this year's coffee festival is expected to attract more than 200,000 visitors.

Throughout the festival, there will be 17 main activities, including: a specialized coffee and OCOP product exhibition; a specialty coffee roasting competition; an international trade conference - connecting and elevating Vietnamese coffee; free coffee tasting at cafes throughout the province; the Lak District dugout canoe race; the Buon Don elephant festival, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, stated that Buon Ma Thuot is known as the coffee capital of Vietnam, with the largest area and production of coffee in the country, covering approximately 210,000 hectares. Annual harvest yields around 520,000 tons, accounting for 30% of Vietnam's coffee production.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province affirmed that coffee is one of the province's key resources. Over the years, Dak Lak coffee has conquered demanding markets and been exported to hundreds of countries and territories worldwide .
Speaking about the activities surrounding the festival themed "Buon Ma Thuot - The World's Coffee Destination," Mr. Tran Hong Tien, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, added: "We have two tourism itineraries: a coffee experience itinerary and a local heritage itinerary. In the coffee experience itinerary, visitors will be able to tour the entire process from planting and production to processing coffee products. In addition, we also invite visitors to explore the CADA Plantation historical and cultural site in Krong Pac district – where the French established their first coffee plantation in the highlands."
According to the organizers, this is also an important event that contributes to promoting the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, building the image of Buon Ma Thuot City as the "Coffee City of the World"; contributing to enhancing the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry on the international stage and promoting socio-economic development and tourism of Dak Lak province. In particular, it honors coffee growers, processors, and traders; introduces tourism potential, promotes investment in the coffee sector and agricultural products, as well as introduces and promotes the distinctive traditional culture of ethnic minorities, especially the Central Highlands Gong Culture Space - a masterpiece of oral tradition and an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Compared to the 2023 event, this year's festival has many new features such as: a competition for creating digital content to promote the festival on the internet; a "together, share" coffee camp at the CADA Plantation historical and cultural site in Krong Pac district…

Many viewers from other provinces have expressed their interest and asked Hen about the festival, as well as planning to participate in the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival to experience it firsthand.
