Hue City and Vingroup cooperate in green transformation and sustainable development

According to the cooperation agreement, Hue City People's Committee and Vingroup will jointly develop a green transformation and green growth program towards sustainable development in the period 2025 - 2030. The two sides will cooperate in investing in areas such as green tourism, green industry, green agriculture, green urban infrastructure, green transportation, and green lifestyle.

In the field of transportation, the People's Committee of Hue City and Vingroup joined hands to launch the movement "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future" and promote the use of electric vehicles throughout the city. The two sides will have special policies to support people, civil servants, public employees, and state-owned enterprises to buy or rent VinFast electric vehicles or use the SM Green electric taxi service. In addition, the two sides will study and implement a plan to use electric buses in the area, ensuring that it is suitable for the conditions, actual situation, and green energy conversion roadmap according to the Government's orientation.

In particular, the Hue City People's Committee will study and support planning, introduce charging station installation locations for V-Green Company, as well as study and implement a mechanism to support the development of charging station infrastructure throughout the city.

The two sides will also jointly research cooperation in the fields of green industrial park development, carbon credit projects, digital transformation, culture, conservation, healthcare, green infrastructure and green capital use, promotion, investment attraction, business support and communication campaigns to raise public awareness.

At the same time, the Hue City People's Committee and Vingroup will study and discuss other strengths of each side such as real estate, social housing, services, tourism, industry, education, information technology, etc. in the city.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee said: "Vingroup has been a pioneer in the field of Green Transformation with the VinFast electric vehicle ecosystem and green public transport. The cooperation between Hue City and Vingroup is to create important opportunities to promote Hue City to lead in the goals of green transformation, digitalization and sustainable development. At the same time, this cooperation is also an opportunity for Vingroup to research and maximize the strengths that have been affirmed by Vingroup in the ancient capital of Hue".

Representing Vingroup, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of the Group said: “The signing ceremony of the comprehensive cooperation agreement on green transformation today is an important milestone opening a promising cooperation journey between Hue City and Vingroup. We look forward to accompanying Hue in researching solutions to promote green transformation, digital transformation and sustainable development, contributing to improving the quality of life of people and promoting the local economy in an increasingly sustainable direction.”

The cooperation agreement between the People's Committee of Hue City and Vingroup Corporation will open up opportunities to accelerate the green transformation process in many fields, bringing a higher quality of life to local people and joining hands towards a green, sustainable future for future generations. Previously, Vingroup signed cooperation agreements with provinces such as Binh Dinh, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen and enterprises such as Viettel, FPT, VinaChem... on green transformation, contributing to promoting the goal of sustainable growth and bringing net emissions to zero by 2050 as committed by the Government.
