On the morning of January 15, 2025, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (HCMC Branch), the HCMC Cultural Center held the closing ceremony of the 2024 HCMC Southern Amateur Music Art Composition Camp.
The Southern Amateur Music Art Composition Camp in Ho Chi Minh City was organized by the City Cultural Center at the end of 2024, with the participation of nearly 30 artisans, authors, composers, researchers... The camp was organized to create conditions for the Southern Amateur Music team to have the opportunity to exchange, improve understanding, demonstrate responsibility, contribute intelligence and efforts to the work of preserving, promoting and developing the intangible cultural heritage of the Southern Amateur Music Art; at the same time, to promote the movement of composing new lyrics for the Southern Amateur Music melodies in Ho Chi Minh City to increasingly spread, develop, achieve efficiency, and improve professional quality.
With the theme of Ho Chi Minh City 50 seasons of blooming flowers, amateur music artists, music educators, artists specializing in composing traditional music, authors specializing in composing and compiling new lyrics for amateur music in Ho Chi Minh City... have created new compositions, expressing well the following contents: praising the Communist Party of Vietnam; President Ho Chi Minh; love for the homeland, country, and people of the City; praising the achievements of the entire Party, army, and people of Ho Chi Minh City after 50 years of national reunification... Among them are many works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and towards the 50th anniversary of the day Saigon - Gia Dinh city was officially honored to be named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026).
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates of merit and prizes to outstanding new compositions.
There were 4 A prizes awarded to the works: 32 It's not simple by author Huynh Tu Uyen (Vo Tu Uyen), To Thanh pho tham niem tin (Tay thi melody) by author Lam Huu Tang, To Nho on nguoi khai rung (Lien nam melody) by Nguyen Thi Tram Anh and Vui ngay dai thang (Bat man tan cong melody) by author Nguyen Van Ho (Dung Ho).
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 8 B prizes, 12 C prizes and 1 prize for excellent ca ra bo work to the authors.
