In the Joint Statement on the occasion of the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam (August 2024), the two sides declared 2025 as the "Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange" and will jointly organize a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The program was organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025, aiming to contribute to the implementation of the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders on inheriting and promoting traditional friendship, enhancing political trust, consolidating social foundation, promoting stable, healthy and sustainable development of the two countries' relations.

At the same time, the organization of the program affirms the importance and top priority of our Party and State for the traditional friendship, comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and community of shared future of strategic significance between the two Parties, two countries and peoples; creating a favorable atmosphere for important high-level exchange activities.

The program also demonstrates the importance of cooperation in training, fostering and raising awareness of the young generation of the two countries about the Vietnam-China friendship; meeting and encouraging the young generation, overseas students and students of the two countries through the periods to continue to inherit and promote the tradition of friendship, make positive and practical contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in the new period, and consolidate the social foundation for bilateral relations.
