(NLDO)- On the evening of March 9, at Ciputra Theater, Jakarta, General Secretary To Lam and his wife attended the Concert to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Indonesia.
According to the Vietnam News Agency Special Envoy, within the framework of the State visit to the Republic of Indonesia and the official visit to the Secretariat of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) from March 9 to 11, on the evening of March 9, at the Ciputra Theater, Jakarta, General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly attended the concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Indonesia diplomatic relations.

Attending the concert were His Excellency Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, President of the Indonesian Senate, and his wife Rose Rudy, along with many delegates and people from Vietnam and Indonesia.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the concert, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that this is a special event within the framework of the State visit to Indonesia by General Secretary To Lam and his wife. During this important visit, the two countries' senior leaders will discuss directions to further deepen and elevate the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his delight at the fact that the relationship between the two countries is entering a period of very good development. Political relations are a solid foundation for the two countries to expand cooperation in all fields. Since the establishment of the Strategic Partnership framework in 2013, the relationship between the two countries has been increasingly expanded, from politics, diplomacy, defense-security to economy, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchange.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son believes that after 70 years of development, with a similar history and many important achievements, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries will increasingly bear fruit, meeting the aspirations of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world. The two sides will work together to promote the Vietnam - Indonesia Strategic Partnership to a new height as agreed by the leaders of the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the State visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife to Indonesia will be a milestone opening a new chapter of cooperation, with a new, more comprehensive and more substantial scope, meeting the interests of the people of the two countries.
Speaking at the concert, Mr. Fadi Zon, Minister of Culture of Indonesia, warmly welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife on their State visit to Indonesia; expressed his gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son for his speech reviewing important milestones in the Indonesia - Vietnam bilateral relationship over the past 70 years.
The Indonesian Minister of Culture emphasized that the relationship between the two countries was firmly established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno, and has been cultivated by successive generations of leaders and people of the two countries, becoming a valuable and lasting asset for both nations. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, Indonesia and Vietnam have stood side by side, nurturing a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values and a commitment to cooperation, through both bilateral and multilateral frameworks of ASEAN.
The Indonesian Culture Minister affirmed that this concert symbolizes the beauty between the cultures and music of the two countries. The artists will create a symphony of hope, resilience and unity, speaking to the hearts of the two peoples looking to the future and inspiring the next generation to continue promoting the spirit of cooperation and friendship that has made the relationship of the two countries over the past 70 years. Affirming that the two countries have made important contributions to ASEAN for the stability, economic development and prosperity of the region, the Indonesian Culture Minister believes that the young generation of the two countries will inherit and continue to join hands to foster the increasingly developing relationship between the two countries.
At the Concert, the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra of the Vietnam National Academy of Music brought an academic symphony program with the participation of leading Vietnamese artists, introducing to Indonesian friends the world's classical musical works, blending and interweaving with the distinctive sounds of traditional Vietnamese instruments, as well as folk melodies and familiar songs of the two countries.
The program is scientifically structured, with a harmonious combination of domestic and international works, demonstrating cultural exchange, honoring national identity, and introducing classical music of the world. The program is built on the basis of the Academic Symphony Orchestra combined with solo artists, stone zither, monochord, moon lute, T'rung, solo violin, piano... In particular, the program has an interesting combination, many outstanding works of famous musicians in the world combined with Vietnamese works.
