General Secretary To Lam receives leaders of major Indonesian enterprises

Within the framework of his state visit to the Republic of Indonesia and official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat from March 9-11, upon arriving in Jakarta, General Secretary To Lam received leaders of large Indonesian corporations and enterprises.

At the meeting with Mr. Budiarsa Sastrawinata, CEO of Ciputra Group, after listening to the representative of Ciputra Group report on the business situation and investment expansion plan in Vietnam, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the business and investment activities of the group, especially in the field of real estate business and services, in which Nam Thang Long Urban Area is one of the large foreign investment real estate projects and a beautiful and impressive urban area in the West Lake scenic complex, Hanoi. The General Secretary welcomed Ciputra Group to continue investing in developing green urban areas, smart urban areas and tourism, with large-scale projects in Vietnam in the coming time.

The General Secretary stressed that the Vietnam-Indonesia relationship is growing well, and this visit aims to promote comprehensive cooperation in all fields, especially economic cooperation with Indonesia. Vietnam encourages Indonesian businesses to invest in Vietnam and hopes that Indonesia will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest and expand their market share in Indonesia.
The General Secretary said that Vietnam is making efforts to reform administrative procedures, create a favorable investment environment for domestic and foreign investors; reform institutions and laws related to business investment. Affirming the policy of supporting projects that Ciputra Group is implementing in Vietnam, the General Secretary asked the group to closely coordinate with the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies to implement the project; at the same time, encourage the group to continue researching and implementing new projects in Vietnam, further promoting areas of strength in investment cooperation, contributing to Vietnam achieving its set growth targets.

Pointing out the similarities in the development goals of the two countries, General Secretary To Lam suggested that the group promote cooperation with Vietnamese partners, contributing to the two countries achieving similar development goals on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of both Vietnam and Indonesia.

Thanking General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to welcome them, the leaders of Ciputra Group affirmed that they will continue to cooperate in developing real estate projects such as housing projects, office building construction projects in Hanoi and research new investment fields in Vietnam.

At the meeting with Mr. Patrick Walujo, General Director and Chairman of Gojek Group and Mr. Garibaldi Thohir, Chairman of PT Alamtri Resources, the General Secretary welcomed the two groups' interest in exploring investment opportunities in Vietnam and affirmed that Vietnam always creates the best conditions for foreign enterprises, including Indonesian enterprises, to invest and do business stably and long-term. Vietnamese authorities are ready to listen and dialogue with foreign enterprises to remove difficulties and obstacles. Currently, Vietnam is increasing investment attraction from foreign enterprises in the fields of renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, digital economy, digital transformation, innovation, development of international financial centers, etc.

The General Secretary suggested that Gojek Group pay attention to investing in Vietnam in areas where the group has strengths; research cooperation with Vietnamese financial institutions to share experience in developing digital finance, digital banking, and international financial centers in Vietnam, etc.

For PT Alamtri Resources Group, the General Secretary suggested strengthening cooperation in environmentally friendly mineral exploitation activities and transferring modern and safe mining technology; developing renewable energy, green transformation, and digital transformation in Vietnam; developing seaport logistics systems and logistics centers; expanding cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises in the field of developing the electric car market, electric batteries, and building smart traffic infrastructure.

The group's leaders said they will soon have plans to return to the Vietnamese market and hope to receive support and promote this process.

Receiving Mr. Oey Alfred, Director of Sungai Budi Group, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the cooperation results between the group and Vietnamese partners in the agricultural sector, specifically the cooperation in producing coconut and sugarcane products; affirmed that Vietnam still has many other fields with strengths and the two sides still have much room for cooperation that needs to be promoted, such as the fields of seafood and Halal food.
The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam and Indonesia are facing the need for rapid economic development in a challenging global context, therefore, the two countries need to promote close cooperation to jointly achieve the set development goals.

Mr. Oey Alfred, Director of Sungai Budi Group, said that the group has had effective cooperation with TTC AgriS Group on the application of science in developing high-tech agriculture and agricultural value chains in Indonesia (especially sugarcane and coconut chains). The group wishes to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises in the agricultural sector.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always creates the best conditions for foreign enterprises, including Indonesia, to invest and do business stably and long-term in Vietnam. Vietnam is increasingly attracting investment from foreign enterprises, including Indonesian enterprises, promoting trade in agricultural products, especially rice and sugar, and cooperating in agricultural technology transfer, contributing to deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia.

Receiving Mr. Anindya Bakrie, President of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the General Secretary congratulated and highly appreciated the practical and effective cooperation results of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in promoting investment, trade and enhancing good relations between the two countries.

The President of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that as an organization representing Indonesian businesses, including state-owned, private and joint venture enterprises, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry carries out tasks of connecting and consulting between businesses and businesses, businesses and the Government.

Mr. Anindya Bakrie suggested that in the coming time, Vietnam should support member enterprises of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen trade and investment cooperation, especially in the fields of high technology, green economy, digital economy, marine economy, and semiconductor industry; promote business cooperation and sign a cooperation agreement between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry.

The General Secretary emphasized that the strong development of Vietnam-Indonesia relations in recent times is a solid foundation for businesses of the two countries to expand cooperation and the two sides still have much potential for cooperation; he expressed his belief in the potential and prospects for long-term and sustainable cooperation between businesses of the two countries in the coming time, thereby improving the lives of people of the two countries.

The General Secretary hoped that the two Chambers of Commerce would strengthen cooperation, exchange delegations, share information, support businesses of the two countries to seek investment cooperation opportunities and connect the two economies to develop strongly; emphasized that Vietnam will continue to promote administrative reforms, create favorable conditions for businesses to invest and cooperate in Vietnam; committed to accompanying and supporting investment and business activities of Indonesian enterprises, bringing more benefits to all parties, contributing to bringing Vietnam - Indonesia relations to a new level.
