On the morning of August 18, on the first working day of his State visit to China at the invitation of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, General Secretary and President To Lam met with Comrade Hoang Khon Minh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, and the entire Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his joy in revisiting Guangdong province - a symbol of the success of China's reform and opening-up, closely related to the history of Vietnam's revolution, the place where exactly 100 years ago, after 13 years of searching for a way to save the country, President Ho Chi Minh set foot to prepare politically, ideologically and organizationally for the Vietnamese revolution.
Congratulating the development achievements of Guangdong province, especially in economy, urban management, and special economic zone models, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his belief that Guangdong will continue to achieve greater achievements, develop more and more prosperously, and bring happiness to the people. On this occasion, he once again expressed his gratitude for the deep condolences of the Party, State, and People of China, and personally General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that his first State visit to China in his new position was to discuss with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other key Chinese leaders measures to further deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, meeting the interests of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world. General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to developing relations with China.
Appreciating the good cooperation results between Guangdong and Vietnamese localities, contributing to the overall development of Vietnam-China relations, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed the common perception of the senior leaders of the two parties and two countries on supporting localities of the two countries to enhance exchanges and cooperation. He suggested that Guangdong and Vietnamese localities promote regular exchanges and cooperation; strengthen substantive cooperation in all fields, especially in trade, investment and strategic connectivity; and welcome Guangdong enterprises to expand the scale of high-quality investment in Vietnam in the fields of digital transformation, green growth and infrastructure. In addition, the two sides promote people-to-people exchange activities and enhance cooperation in training officials, consolidate the foundation of friendship between the two peoples from the grassroots and localities, adding strength to the development of Vietnam-China relations increasingly better and sustainably in the long term.
Expressing his emotion when visiting Martyr Pham Hong Thai and the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Relic, General Secretary and President To Lam sincerely thanked the Party Committee, Government and people of Guangdong province and Guangzhou city for preserving and carefully conserving important historical relics in the Vietnamese revolutionary process, becoming symbols of traditional friendship, solidarity and attachment between the two Parties, two countries and peoples.
On behalf of the Party Committee, Government and people of Guangdong province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Khon Minh warmly welcomed and expressed his honor when General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam chose Guangzhou city, Guangdong province as the first stop during their State visit to China as the Head of the Party and State of Vietnam, right on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in Guangzhou, demonstrating the high regard of the Party and State of Vietnam for the long-standing traditional friendship between the two Parties and two countries.
Comrade Hoang Khon Minh congratulated Comrade To Lam on being elected by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to hold the position of General Secretary; expressed his impression of Vietnam's outstanding socio-economic development achievements and increasingly enhanced international position under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; affirmed his belief that under the leadership of General Secretary and President To Lam, Vietnam will continue to achieve even greater achievements, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, and successfully prepare for and organize the 14th National Party Congress.
Comrade Hoang Khon Minh said that the Party Committee and Government of Guangdong province attach great importance to the relationship with Vietnam and Vietnamese localities; at the same time, he affirmed the importance, determination and desire of Guangdong in working with potential localities of Vietnam to enhance friendly exchanges and substantive cooperation in all fields, contributing to the implementation of the common perception between the highest leaders of the two Parties and two countries, promoting the development of Vietnam - China relations to new heights.
