According to the plan, this year's winter-spring crop, the whole province will plant about 13,000 hectares of rice. In February, farmers in the whole province planted 3,295 hectares of spring rice, an increase of 5.64% over the same period last year.

At this time, in localities in the province, people are actively going to the fields, preparing the land, and plowing. In some localities with favorable irrigation water such as Song Ma, Quynh Nhai, Yen Chau, people have basically completed the spring crop planting plan. In terms of variety structure, there are not many changes compared to previous years, mainly pure rice varieties such as Dai Thom 8, Nhi Uu, BC15, Gia Loc, Bac Xuyen, glutinous rice varieties such as N87, N97... To ensure the progress of spring rice planting according to the time frame, functional sectors in the province are stepping up guidance for farmers to choose suitable varieties, ensure conditions for irrigation water, fertilizer, promote mechanization in land preparation, plowing, reduce labor, increase labor productivity. The current weather is quite favorable for spring crop planting. However, farmers need to closely monitor weather developments and promptly implement measures to prevent and combat cold for young seedlings and newly planted rice areas, ensuring successful spring crop production.
