The workshop “Spirit of Ly Tu Trong - Aspiration of the Youth” was held to honor and show gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for national independence.
The workshop is an opportunity for the Youth Union at all levels nationwide, the Party Committee and the people of Ha Tinh to continue to follow the example of hero Ly Tu Trong, thereby promoting patriotic emulation movements, contributing to spreading the aspiration to contribute in each member and youth, as well as promoting the vanguard role on all fronts, contributing to building the homeland and the country, firmly following the revolutionary path that the Party, Uncle Ho and our people have chosen.
The workshop received the attention, enthusiastic and responsible participation of leaders, former leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations; experts, scientists, researchers, practitioners; generations of union cadres and outstanding representatives of the young generation.
The presentations at the conference analyzed and focused on clarifying three main contents: Ly Tu Trong's spirit - Lessons for today's youth; Ly Tu Trong with his hometown Ha Tinh; Ly Tu Trong's spirit - Aspirations of Vietnamese youth in the new era.
The presentations at the conference helped clarify many details and information about the revolutionary life, spirit and heroic sacrifice of comrade Ly Tu Trong. They focused on analyzing and highlighting the good qualities of the first communist youth union member and valuable lessons from his life for generations of Vietnamese youth to learn and follow.

In particular, the discussions focused on affirming that the heroic sacrifice of comrade Ly Tu Trong and the flame of his revolutionary spirit "passed the torch" to the younger generation.
Ly Tu Trong's famous statement before the criminal court "The path of youth is only the revolutionary path, there can be no other path" is considered a "manifesto" about the ideals and reason for living of young people; demonstrating the responsibility of young people for the fate of the country, linking national interests with the interests of each young person; affirming that the choice of reason for living of young people is linked to the survival of the country and the nation.
That is also the embodiment of patriotism, steadfastness with ideals and the revolutionary spirit of the people of Ha Tinh in all periods.
From the revolutionary spirit of comrade Ly Tu Trong as well as revolutionary predecessors, generations of youth union members today and tomorrow can draw many valuable lessons in the work of gathering, propagating, educating youth and developing organizations in the new context...
We are even more proud because from the very beginning when the Party was not yet established until today, our Party has always highly appreciated and paid special attention to the youth.

Concluding the workshop, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Standing Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, affirmed: The contents of today's workshop are extremely valuable materials for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in implementing propaganda and education activities for the younger generation associated with the example of Ly Tu Trong and young heroes.
This is also the basis for relevant agencies to continue researching and establishing new solutions, constantly innovating the content and methods of educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles for union members and young people; enhancing patriotism, national pride, and the willingness of the young generation to contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
"Looking broadly, from comrade Ly Tu Trong and the first generation of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members to more than 6 million union members, more than 20 million Vietnamese youth today; from the predecessors who carried patriotism, came to the light of Marxism-Leninism and became the first communists, to millions of cadres and party members today, we feel extremely happy about the growth of the Party, the Youth Union, and the political system.
We can strongly affirm that the Party's leadership has brought about great achievements for the revolution. We are even more proud because from the very beginning when the Party was not yet established until today, our Party has always highly appreciated and paid special attention to the youth," Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong emphasized.
Ly Tu Trong, real name Le Van Trong, a young communist soldier, was born on October 20, 1914, in a patriotic Vietnamese family in Thailand. His hometown was Ky Viet village, Viet Xuyen commune (now Viet Tien commune, Thach Ha, Ha Tinh). Ly Tu Trong was a shining example of patriotism. He was directly guided and nurtured by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc and other revolutionary leaders. He was soon enlightened about the revolutionary ideal. Ly Tu Trong heroically sacrificed himself at the age of 17, but his indomitable spirit terrified the enemy and added great strength and motivation to the revolutionary movement throughout the country. His immortal words before the colonial court: "The path of youth is only the path of revolution, there can be no other path" became the ideal of life, the spiritual weapon, and the guiding principle for action for Vietnamese youth of all periods.
