Statistics from the Dak Lak Provincial Traffic Safety Committee show that in February 2024, there were 36 traffic accidents in the province, killing 22 people and injuring 24 people. Compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 1 accident, a decrease of 3 deaths, and the number of injured people did not increase or decrease.
Of these, 16 accidents occurred on national highways passing through the province (accounting for more than 44.4% of the total number of accidents), 12 accidents occurred on rural roads, 5 accidents occurred on inner-city roads, and 3 accidents occurred on provincial roads.

The causes of accidents were due to not paying attention (6 cases); driving in the wrong lane (5 cases); overtaking without safety (4 cases); speeding (3 cases); vehicles not ensuring technical safety (1 case) and some other causes.
In addition, through patrolling and controlling, the Traffic Police force detected and recorded 5,466 violations, issued fines for 4,314 cases, paid more than 10 billion VND to the State Treasury, and revoked 919 driver's licenses for a period of time. It is known that through handling violations by groups of behaviors, 1,527 cases of alcohol concentration violations were detected; 1,590 cases of speeding violations; 119 cases of overloading, expanding the vehicle's walls and trunk, and 13 cases of drivers with drugs in their bodies.
