In recent times, the National Competition Commission has actively participated in implementing ASEAN cooperation activities on competition and consumer protection.
According to the leader of the National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade), as a member agency of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (AEGC) and the ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection (ACCP), the Vietnam National Competition Commission has actively participated in implementing ASEAN cooperation activities on competition and consumer protection.
Accordingly, in 2024, the unit hosted the Workshop on Competition in the Digital Economy in June in Hanoi, Vietnam. At the same time, the National Competition Commission coordinated with ASEAN countries to implement many activities within the framework of the AEGC Group, including: Updating the ASEAN Handbook on Competition Law and Policy for Enterprises; Updating the ASEAN Guidelines on Reviewing Competition Law Enforcement; Developing a Joint Statement of the Leaders of ASEAN Competition Authorities on Strengthening Cooperation in Competition Law and Policy; Developing the ASEAN Merger Case Sharing Portal; Completing the AEGC Report for the period 2020 - 2022 and developing the ASEAN Action Plan on Competition 2025 - 2030 (ACAP 2030). In addition, the National Competition Commission also actively participated in conferences, seminars and training courses on competition within the framework of the AEGC.

Regarding ASEAN cooperation on consumer protection, in 2024, the unit actively participated in and implemented cooperation activities on consumer protection within the ASEAN framework. Specifically, the National Competition Commission coordinated with the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Expert Group on Consumer Protection (ACCP) to review, update and develop projects and activities on consumer protection in the region.
The National Competition Commission also organized four working groups to participate in seminars, conferences and training courses to exchange information, experiences and propose cooperation initiatives. In addition, ASEAN countries have completed the review of the Strategic Action Plan on Consumer Protection for the period 2021 - 2025, developed an action plan for the period up to 2030 and conducted a survey on the ASEAN consumer empowerment index.
The leader of the National Competition Commission said that actively participating in ASEAN cooperation activities on competition and consumer protection not only supports the Commission in effectively implementing activities within its functions and tasks but also contributes to affirming Vietnam's position and voice in the region and the world in the field of competition and consumer rights protection.
