The wood industry still has a lot of potential for development.

For the wood processing and handicraft industry, 2024 witnessed remarkable growth of the industry, with the export turnover of wood and wood products reaching 16.25 billion USD, an increase of 20.3% compared to 2023.

Currently, the wood industry is one of the main export industries of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. Although the total export output of the wood industry of the city only accounts for more than 1 billion USD.

However, the export turnover of wood products traded through the city's port system accounts for more than 40% of the country's total output. This shows that Ho Chi Minh City is an important link in the country's export development strategy.
