At the reception, Comrade Ngo Thanh Danh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dak Nong province, said that the province currently has more than 7,000 meritorious people. Although the socio-economic situation still faces many difficulties, the province has focused resources to better care for the material and spiritual lives of meritorious people. Along with policies, the "Repaying gratitude" movement is constantly developing. 100% of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers are supported by agencies, units and enterprises. The province also regularly visits and gives gifts to meritorious people and policy families on occasions such as War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27 every year; Lunar New Year; and supports housing for meritorious people and policy families in difficult circumstances.
Expressing her joy at welcoming the delegation of people with meritorious services to the revolution in Dak Nong province on the occasion of the delegation's visit to Hanoi, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai emphasized that under the leadership of the Party, the cause of national liberation, national reunification, construction and protection of the Fatherland, there have been many outstanding children of the nation who heroically sacrificed and devoted their blood, strength and intelligence to the revolutionary cause. The Party, State and People will forever remember the great contributions of people with meritorious services, war invalids, martyrs and heroic Vietnamese mothers. Of which, Dak Nong province has more than 7,000 people with meritorious services who have been recognized, including: 1,200 martyrs, 65 heroic Vietnamese mothers, more than 1,000 war invalids, 500 sick soldiers, about 1,200 people who participated in the resistance war and their children who were exposed to toxic chemicals.
With the philosophy of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", over the years, the Party and the State have always been consistent in their viewpoint of constantly improving and enhancing the material and spiritual life of people with revolutionary contributions along with the process of socio-economic development of the country. The preferential policy for people with revolutionary contributions is a key policy, given top priority in the social policy system. The Party and the State always pay attention to amending, supplementing and perfecting policies and laws to better care for the lives of people with revolutionary contributions. In addition to the subsidy and allowance regime, our Party and the State also have many specific policies to care for people with revolutionary contributions, such as: Health care policy; support for improving housing and residential land, giving priority to land allocation for production; incentives for education, training, vocational training, job creation; promoting the search and collection of martyrs' remains; building, renovating and embellishing martyrs' cemeteries, memorial works...
"Policies and regimes are timely, meaningful and facilitated so that those with meritorious services feel warm when receiving and enjoying the policies, and feel the affection and gratitude of later generations towards previous generations," the Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai acknowledged and commended the wounded and sick soldiers, families, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services who have overcome injuries, losses, sacrifices, overcome difficulties, constantly promoted the good qualities of revolutionary soldiers, contributed their efforts to the cause of building the homeland and the country, and set a shining example for the younger generation.
The Standing Secretariat also commended the Party Committees and authorities of Dak Nong province, who, despite many socio-economic difficulties, have always focused on implementing well the work for people with meritorious services, promptly, fully and effectively implementing policies; at the same time, requested Dak Nong province to continue to pay attention and have practical solutions to improve the lives of people with meritorious services in the province.
Regarding the recommendations of the Delegation on policies, nursing care, pensions, and social protection for people with meritorious services, the Standing Secretariat said it will take note and send them to relevant agencies to continue researching and perfecting related policies.
