Farewell ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh leaving Hanoi for an official visit to the People's Republic of China and to attend the WEF Annual Meeting.

This is the first official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and also the first official visit of a Vietnamese Prime Minister in 7 years; it is the first direct meeting between key leaders of the two countries after the People's Republic of China completed the positions of state leaders in the new term.

The visit took place in the context of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries maintaining a development trend and achieving many positive results. In particular, the official visit to the People's Republic of China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 2022) has given a strong impetus to the relationship between the two countries.

Vietnam-China political trust has been strengthened; economic, trade and investment cooperation has maintained growth. Vietnam is China's fourth largest trading partner in the world; two-way trade turnover in 2022 will reach 175 billion USD, accounting for 1/4 of the total trade turnover between China and ASEAN.

Meanwhile, the cooperation between Vietnam and the World Economic Forum continues to develop well. The World Economic Forum and Professor Klaus Schwab personally value and appreciate the role and position of Vietnam. The two sides cooperate in macro policy consulting, reducing plastic waste, sustainable agriculture, narrowing the labor skills gap, digital transformation, etc.

The 14th World Economic Forum Pioneers Annual Meeting in Tianjin is organized annually by the World Economic Forum in coordination with the Government of the People's Republic of China. It is the second largest in scale after the Annual Meeting in Davos (Switzerland). The conference has the theme "Enterprise: The Engine of the Global Economy" and includes more than 100 sessions, attracting many leaders of countries and international organizations to attend.

Strengthening cooperation through programs, projects and attending conferences of the World Economic Forum, successfully coordinating and organizing a number of events has contributed to helping Vietnam attract investment, promote the country's image, strengthen relations with many global corporations, update new trends, and advanced development and management thinking.
