Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch 1385/CD-TTg dated December 20 on strengthening and ensuring conditions for eating, living, and studying for preschool children, boarding and semi-boarding students, and students in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct the review of the organization and implementation of meals for preschool children, semi-boarding and boarding students, and students in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

At the same time, inspect the implementation of other policies for preschool children and students at educational institutions under management. Strictly handle any violations by groups and individuals.

The Ethnic Committee effectively uses resources under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minority Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period for education, ensuring the implementation of the goal of "100% of schools and classrooms in extremely disadvantaged communes and villages are solidly built".

Previously, on December 16, the program 24-hour Movement ( Vietnam Television ) reported that the meals of students at Hoang Thu Pho 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities showed signs of being cut.

Specifically, during breakfast at the boarding kitchen, each tray had 11 children fighting over 2 packs of instant noodles cooked thinly with rice. Although the menu and financial disclosure clearly stated that 174 boarding students were entitled to 1 pack of instant noodles and 1 egg for breakfast, according to the person in charge of cooking, the situation of food shortage for students often occurred.

Not only breakfast, lunch and dinner for 11 people each only have a little bit of chopped ham and a pot of soup. However, the principal of Hoang Thu Pho 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities thinks that is enough for the portion.
