March 17, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) officially announced the score distribution of the second round of the 2025 Thinking Assessment (TSA) exam.
Previously, on March 8 and 9, the second round of the thinking assessment exam took place with the participation of nearly 19,000 candidates at 30 testing locations in Hanoi, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Da Nang.
According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the highest score of the second round was 92.69/100. There were 4 candidates who scored over 90 points, 67 candidates who scored over 80 points, and 847 candidates who scored over 70 points. The average score of the second round was 54.39/100.

The valedictorian of the second batch of 2025 continues to be from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, the same school as the valedictorian of the first batch. In addition, the runner-up of the TSA exam this time is also a student from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted.
Previously, the first round took place on January 18 and 19, with nearly 14,000 candidates participating. The valedictorian was Vu Minh Duc, a student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted. The male student scored 98.61/100 points, the highest in the history of the exam. The average score of the first round this year was 54.54 points.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to organize 3 rounds of thinking assessment exams from January to April 2025 with about 75,000 exams, an increase of 25,000 compared to last year.
The thinking assessment test consists of three parts: mathematical thinking (60 minutes), reading comprehension (30 minutes) and scientific thinking/problem solving (60 minutes). These are three independent test parts, the questions focus on assessing the candidate's thinking ability, not directly testing knowledge of any subject.
The 2025 TSA exam will have one more round of testing on April 26 and 27. Registration is open from April 1 to April 6.
The results of the thinking assessment test are used in university admissions for the 2025 admissions season with nearly 50 schools using it.
