Strengthening educational publishing cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba

From February 22-26, a delegation of officials from the Vietnam Education Publishing House led by Chairman of the Board of Members and General Director Nguyen Tien Thanh visited and worked in Cuba to strengthen cooperation in the publishing field between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Cuban Ministry of Universities.

During the reception, Cuban Minister of Higher Education Walter Baluja García expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation in the field of book publishing with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, especially digital books following the current development trend. Cuban Minister of Higher Education Walter Baluja García also highly appreciated the participation of Vietnamese delegations at the annual International Book Fair in Havana, thereby enhancing cultural exchange between the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Cuba.

Minister Walter Baluja García said that the Cuban education sector has trained thousands of Vietnamese students over the years and highly appreciates the learning spirit, intelligence, sense of discipline and sociability of Vietnamese students.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh shared his experience in publishing printed and digital books of the Vietnam Education Publishing House. Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh affirmed his readiness to support Cuba in printing and publishing books for the 15th International Congress of Universities in Cuba and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh emphasized that helping and supporting Cuba always comes from the heart of every Vietnamese person. The Vietnamese people always remember and are grateful to the Cuban people for their wholehearted and righteous help in the struggle to defend the Fatherland, build and develop the country.

The two sides also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of publishing on the occasion of the upcoming visit and working session in Vietnam of Cuban Deputy Minister of Higher Education Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar.

During their time in Cuba, the delegation of the Vietnam Education Publishing House also attended the 33rd Havana International Book Fair and worked with the Cuban Book Institute.
