In order to ensure the rights and interests of consumers, the authorities and enterprises in the province have been implementing many programs and solutions to contribute to building a safe and healthy business and consumption environment, increasingly protecting the rights of consumers in transactions in the market.
TRANSPARENT INFORMATION
Protecting consumer rights is not only the responsibility of state management agencies but also the obligation of enterprises and consumers themselves. On the part of enterprises, information transparency is a commitment to business ethics. This includes public disclosure of safety standards, product origin, ingredients, expiry dates and quality. In addition, there should be many thoughtful warranty and after-sales policies and proactively receive and resolve customer complaints quickly and fairly. Improving product quality not only helps enterprises maintain their reputation but also contributes to creating a sustainable consumer environment.
“I have a habit of reading information before deciding to buy a product. If the product information is unclear or shows signs of abnormality, I will ask the seller carefully or decide not to buy. Goods must have clear price lists and transparent information to help us feel secure when using the product,” said Ms. Thanh Thuy (Ward 5, Bac Lieu City).

Current reality shows that consumers' shopping and service usage habits have changed a lot, but there are also potential risks involved. Many consumers need to know their rights in buying and selling transactions, paying attention to the origin, source, and quality of products. At the same time, boldly denounce acts of commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods, thereby contributing to protecting the common interests of the community.
STRENGTHENING THE PROTECTION OF CONSUMER RIGHTS
Based on the information reported by the enterprise, on November 22, 2024, Market Management Team No. 2 coordinated with the representative of the subject to conduct a surprise inspection of the TH business household (Minh Dieu commune, Hoa Binh district). Through the inspection, it was recorded that this business household was displaying for sale 51 units of plant protection products with signs of infringing on trademark rights.
Recently, on February 17, 2025, from information from the people, the Inspection Team of Market Management Team No. 4 conducted a surprise inspection at the KK business household (My Trinh hamlet, Hung Phu commune, Phuoc Long district), thereby discovering 400 bottles of perfume (unbranded) of various types, 10 ml/bottle, on the bottles there was no information to determine the origin, source, and place of production of the goods. The inspection team temporarily detained and handled according to the provisions of law.
These are two of many violations that the provincial authorities have inspected and handled from reports from businesses and consumers recently.
Although the authorities have taken drastic measures, there are still a large number of consumers, especially those in rural areas, who are not aware of their rights and responsibilities in consumption; they are afraid to make recommendations and reflect on issues related to protecting their rights when buying poor quality products, products that do not ensure food safety... to state management agencies. Therefore, in the coming time, the authorities will continue to strengthen propaganda, disseminate laws, and inform consumers to recognize counterfeit and poor quality goods on a regular basis. At the same time, closely monitor market developments, inspect and supervise production and business establishments, and encourage consumers to boycott goods of enterprises that violate consumer rights...
In addition to the participation of all levels and sectors, each consumer needs to equip himself with legal knowledge, awareness of self-protection of rights, and full and correct awareness of his rights and obligations as prescribed by law. At the same time, forming safe and appropriate consumption habits and skills in the new era.
