According to the police, the fire killed three people trapped in the house: NQM (born in 2010); NPU (born in 2012) and DTD (born in 2004). The fire also damaged property and household items such as televisions, refrigerators, tables and chairs.
At noon on July 8, Hanoi City Police informed about the fire that occurred early that morning. Accordingly, at about 5:22 a.m. the same day, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center (center) received a fire report at address 12, Tho Quan alley, Tho Quan ward, Dong Da district.
After receiving the news, the center mobilized 4 units, 2 fire trucks, rescue vehicles, vehicle transport vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene to organize fire fighting and rescue.

At about 5:26, the forces arrived at the scene. At the scene, the scale of the fire area was a house combined with a service business (pedicure, manicure), a tube-shaped house, 6 floors high, 1 attic, area of about 60m², reinforced concrete structure.
At around 7:37 a.m. the same day, the fire was basically extinguished. Authorities focused on urgently investigating, clarifying the cause and overcoming the consequences of the fire.
According to the authorities, the fire killed 3 people. Through investigation, the family involved in the fire had participated in the model of “Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Group” and was equipped with 4 fire extinguishers. The head of the household, Mr. Nguyen Van Ke, had been informed, disseminated, and trained in knowledge of fire prevention and fighting and rescue.
At Tho Quan alley (where a household caught fire), Tho Quan ward People's Committee has installed public fire stations to serve fire fighting and initial rescue work.

Previously, upon receiving a report of the fire, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh directed Hanoi City Police to focus on fire fighting, rescue, and investigation to clarify the cause.
At the same time, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the People's Committee of Dong Da district were assigned to urgently visit the victims' families, organize to overcome the consequences, and stabilize the lives of people in the area.
