(NLDO) - After abolishing district-level police, Hanoi Police has deployed City Police bases in 30 districts, towns and cities.
On March 3, Hanoi City Police informed about the functions and tasks of 30 City Police facilities in districts, towns and cities.

According to the Hanoi Police, from March 1, the Hanoi Police will cease the operations of 30 district-level police stations, and the functions and tasks of district-level police stations will be transferred to the City Police Station and commune-level police stations. Based on the nature, importance and characteristics of the capital, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Hanoi Police Station have directed functional units to study and deploy the City Police Station in 30 districts, towns and cities and officially deploy it from March 1.
Accordingly, the City Police facility is located at the former district police headquarters to take advantage of infrastructure and equipment, avoid waste and facilitate people's travel in handling work under the authority of the City Police Department, as well as receiving crime reports and reflecting people's recommendations.
Hanoi Police said that the functional departments of the City Police will arrange for local teams including department leaders, team-level commanders and officers and soldiers of the department to be stationed and work directly at the facilities, to perform the task of ensuring security and order according to their functions and tasks in the districts, towns and cities. Along with that, the facilities will also guide and direct the commune-level police in professional and technical work as well as coordinate to resolve arising security and order incidents; contributing to improving the effectiveness of the work of grasping the situation and comprehensively managing the area of the Departments of the City Police.
Hanoi Police affirmed that the City Police Department is not a police level under the organizational system of the Capital Police, but is a general management and operation mechanism, coordinating forces in districts, towns and cities; operating according to common regulations. Each City Police Department will have a leader of the City Police Staff Department as Head of the Department and perform the function of assisting the Board of Directors.
From there, the Board of Directors inspects, urges, operates, maintains the general operations of the facility, coordinates forces in situations where it is necessary to mobilize the local teams; maintains the duty, combat duty, and command duty of the local teams at the facility in accordance with the force's regulations.
According to Hanoi City Police, this is a creative, flexible and necessary measure and solution in the transitional period, handing over the tasks of the previous district-level police but still ensuring that no intermediary steps arise; all work of the Area Team is directly managed by the functional Departments, which are the "extended arms" of the Departments that closely follow the area 24/7, ready to resolve cases right at the grassroots level.
