Just hours after taking office as President, Donald Trump will implement a series of policies as promised during the election campaign, including large-scale deportation of illegal immigrants.

NBC News reported that Trump's transition team said so. According to a Trump campaign official, the changes are expected to happen at an unprecedented pace to signal a dramatic change from the administration of President Joe Biden. Trump has prepared to reverse his predecessor's policies on his first day in office. Among the measures to be implemented are rapid and widespread deportation of illegal immigrants, ending reimbursement for military travel for abortions, and limiting access to gender confirmation services for transgender troops. However, much of the first day will focus on stopping illegal immigration, which was a central issue of Trump's campaign. The president-elect is expected to sign five executive orders addressing that issue after taking the oath of office. "There will definitely be a lot of quick action, from day one, on the immigration front," said one Trump ally. "There will be a push to make a big plan and make sure that the campaign promises are not empty promises." But Trump's campaign promises are also difficult to keep. Deporting illegal immigrants will be a logistical challenge that could take years. Questions remain about his tax-cut pledge. And his promise to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours is unlikely to be met. Still, Trump's advisers at his Mar-a-Lago resort and in his office in West Palm Beach, Florida, are reportedly planning a strategy to end the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine. After his decisive victory on November 5, the president-elect moved quickly to build his cabinet and senior White House advisory team. As of November 21, Mr. Trump had selected more than 30 people for senior positions in the administration, compared to 3 people selected during his transition period in 2016.
