"Through our visits and work in Vietnam, we have seen that railway investment and development in Vietnam is very similar to China in the past. The problems that Vietnam faces in construction organization, capital model... are also the problems that China faces and must deal with. Now China has taken the lead in core technology and urban railway operations. We wish to share experiences and cooperate more deeply in Vietnam in many areas from infrastructure construction, equipment, operations...", Mr. Luu Vy expressed.

Welcoming Giai Do Group's interest in and exploration of cooperation and investment opportunities in the transport sector in Vietnam, Minister Nguyen Van Thang expressed his impression of Giai Do's performance and products in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence.

The Minister of Information informed that in the 2021-2025 and 2026-2030 periods, with a vision to 2045, Vietnam is prioritizing the development of a synchronous infrastructure system. Regarding expressways, more than 2,000km have been completed, with an expected 3,000km to be put into operation by 2025 and 5,000km by 2030.

The railway sector in particular has received great investment attention from the Party and the State. Vietnam plans to develop a railway network of 16 routes by 2030 with a total length of 4,802km; and 25 routes by 2050 with a total length of 6,354km. At the same time, it is preparing procedures to invest in the construction of the North-South high-speed railway; in which priority is given to the construction of the two sections of the Hanoi - Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang routes.

Along with that are connecting railway routes such as the railway from Long Thanh airport to Thu Thiem (HCMC), Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway... These routes are receiving great attention from foreign enterprises, including Chinese enterprises.

Vietnam has also discussed with China the potential for cooperation with three routes connecting the two countries, including two routes connecting with Guangxi Province and one connecting with Yunnan Province. Railway cooperation projects with China have also been mentioned in the Vietnam-China Joint Statements in 2022 and 2023. Priority is given to investment in developing the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard gauge railway. This route is also being put forward for negotiation on loans for development investment.

Regarding urban railways, it is expected that by 2035, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will invest in and build 14 urban railway lines.

With such development orientation, the Minister believes that there is a lot of room for businesses of the two countries to cooperate in the coming time. In particular, Giai Do, with its experience and capacity in investment management and railway operation management, will have many opportunities to cooperate in Vietnam.

However, the Minister emphasized that Vietnam is currently promoting industrial development, so technology transfer is a mandatory requirement for cooperation projects in the transport sector.

"The Ministry of Transport will create all favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including Chinese enterprises, to learn about and cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises in the transport sector, practically contributing to the close and friendly relationship between the two countries," said Minister Nguyen Van Thang.
