On May 27, in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Minister of Relations with the National Assembly - Senate and Inspectorate of Cambodia Samdech Kittisangha Bondit Men Sam An, together with a high-ranking delegation of Cambodia and a delegation of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam, visited and worked at the headquarters of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).
Reporting to Deputy Prime Minister Samdech Kittisangha Bondit Men Sam An and the delegation, BIDV General Director Le Ngoc Lam said that BIDV is currently the leading Vietnamese financial institution in direct investment activities and financial and credit cooperation in Cambodia. BIDV's commercial presence in Cambodia has well performed its assigned missions, goals and tasks and operated effectively, affirming its position, brand and reputation in its fields of operation, contributing to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
In particular, after 14 years of establishment and development, the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC) has become one of the large-scale commercial banks in Cambodia with charter capital as of March 31, 2023 reaching 100 million USD, total assets reaching nearly 882 million USD...
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Samdech Kittisangha Bondit Men Sam An congratulated the achievements and acknowledged and praised the contributions of BIDV, BIDC and other commercial presences to Cambodia's socio-economic development over the past 14 years.
Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An assessed: Since BIDV's commercial presence was established in Cambodia, investment activities of Vietnamese enterprises in Cambodia have improved. The commercial presence has been active and responsible in connecting businesses, promoting investment, trade, tourism activities and developing increasingly good relations between the two countries.
The Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister also acknowledged that BIDC and BIDV's commercial presences always comply with Cambodian laws and regulations; actively and exemplaryly implement policies, orientations and directions of the Government and relevant agencies in Cambodia.
Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An asked BIDV and BIDC to continue their efforts to maintain their leading role among Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cambodia, and to promote their role as a bridge in economic, investment and trade activities between the two countries.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 26, a high-ranking delegation from the Ministry of National Assembly - Senate Relations and Inspection of Cambodia led by Ms. Samdech Men Sam An, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Assembly - Senate Relations and Inspection of Cambodia, had a working session with the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel).
These are activities in the program of visiting and working in Vietnam of the Ministry of Relations with the National Assembly - Senate and the Inspectorate of Cambodia. On May 26, the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam received, held talks and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation (amended) with the Ministry of Relations with the National Assembly - Senate and the Inspectorate of Cambodia.
