Faced with the task and requirements of building the country and the army in the new period, on October 30, 1995, the Military Command issued Decision No. 106 on the establishment of the Construction and Installation Enterprise, the predecessor of Viettel Construction Joint Stock Corporation, under the Military Electronics and Telecommunications Company (now Viettel Military Industry - Telecommunications Group).

Since its inception, Viettel Construction has contributed to laying the foundation for the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Vietnam, undertaking the task of constructing, manufacturing, installing, repairing, maintaining and servicing postal - telecommunications, electronics and information technology works and equipment inside and outside the military. At this time, communications were considered the lifeline connecting industries and fields on the path of cooperation and development in the cause of building and defending the country.

Viettel Construction's first projects include participating in the implementation of the mobile information project and the 1A fiber optic cable project; constructing and installing antenna poles for the level 2 military information line of the Information Corps Command. Completing the task of building information works for the Post , Radio and Television sectors in a number of localities, notably the 125m high Central Television tower at 43 Nguyen Chi Thanh - Hanoi, has become an important milestone, contributing to marking the maturity of the telecommunications industry.

Starting from pioneering steps and steadily advancing into the world

In 2005, the Construction Enterprise was transformed into Viettel Construction Company (now Viettel Construction Corporation). In 2006, after converting the company's form of operation from dependent accounting to independent accounting, the company's board of directors set out the development direction of continuing to grasp the internal market, building infrastructure to serve the corporation's telecommunications business network.

In the past 10 years, Viettel Construction's telecommunications infrastructure has been built 3 times more than before 2013; nearly 120,000km of fiber optic cable, with 100% of mainland communes opticalized; construction of nearly 60,000 broadcasting stations, with coverage of 98% of the population; construction of 11 million super-broadband fixed ports, capable of providing services to 80% of households. Since 2017, Viettel Construction has participated in managing and operating Viettel's entire network infrastructure with 52,412 broadcasting stations, 271,000km of fiber optic cable, and 8 million FTTH lines.

Viettel Construction is also the group's key unit in ensuring telecommunications infrastructure to serve important national political events such as: Party Congress, APEC Summit, US-North Korea Summit, festivals, Covid-19 prevention and overcoming consequences caused by storms and floods.

Not only successful domestically, Viettel Construction has also expanded to the international market, participating in the construction of telecommunications and infrastructure projects in many countries. Currently, Viettel Construction is the unit constructing Viettel infrastructure in 10 foreign markets. The corporation has constructed nearly 73,000 broadcasting stations, nearly 176,000 km of fiber optic cables, nearly 15,000 FTTH lines in Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Mozambique, East Timor, Peru, Cameroon, Tanzania, Burundi, Myanmar...

At the same time, performing well national tasks and not only stopping at building telecommunications works, Viettel Construction also aims to serve the community.

Viettel Construction currently operates mainly in 5 areas including infrastructure leasing investment, operation and exploitation, construction, technical solutions and services, and information technology.

With strategic business orientation and long-term vision, Viettel Construction continuously affirms its position and strength in business. By the end of 2024, Viettel Construction's total assets will reach VND 7,106 billion, revenue will reach VND 12,666 billion, an increase of VND 1,267.1 billion compared to 2023; pre-tax profit will reach VND 671.8 billion, an increase of VND 35.8 billion compared to 2023.
