On the morning of March 17, Viet Duc Hospital announced the successful heart transplant for teenager Nguyen Huu Truong Thinh (14 years old, Ham Cuong commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan), marking a miraculous turning point in his life.

Truong Thinh was diagnosed with heart disease when he was only 4 months old. Thinh's family was not well off, his father was a teacher - the only breadwinner. His mother had a traffic accident in 2014 and was paralyzed, unable to take care of herself. For many years, Truong Thinh had to constantly go in and out of the hospital, undergoing 2 heart surgeries to stay alive.

However, the heart failure became more and more serious, causing his health to deteriorate, putting his family in an extremely difficult situation. To save his life, the only way left was a heart transplant. But the source of donated hearts was extremely difficult, so he was placed on the waiting list for an organ transplant.

Fortunately, after a long wait for donated organs, a brain-dead case after a traffic accident had a family who agreed to donate organs. The brain-dead donor's heart matched Truong Thinh's parameters. Luck smiled on him when he was assigned a heart transplant to revive his life.

However, due to the family's difficult circumstances and the high cost of the heart transplant, Viet Duc Hospital called on benefactors to donate. The benefactors raised more than 200 million VND to support the child and his family in continuing to fight the disease.

The heart transplant for Truong Thinh was successful. The days of post-transplant recovery were quite favorable and he recovered well.

It is known that after returning home, Thinh's health improved and he is preparing to return to school.

Although the journey ahead is still full of challenges, with a healthy heart and love from family and community, Truong Thinh is continuing to write his life story - a story of perseverance, determination and belief in a bright future.
