Concert in memory of musician Trinh Cong Son – “Do you still remember or have you forgotten?”

Saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan and singers Thanh Lam, Duc Tuan, Bui Lan Huong, Minh Thu, Lo Thuy, Tuan Hiep will perform at the memorial concert to commemorate the 24th anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son's death (April 1, 2001 - April 1, 2025) - Do you still remember or have you forgotten?

Taking place on the evening of March 29-30 at the Hanoi Opera House, the program is a continuation of the success of the music nights commemorating musician Trinh Cong Son in recent years.

The music night “Do you still remember or have you forgotten” is co-organized by the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater and the Vietnam Gas Corporation - JSC; edited and directed by People's Artist Tran Binh; and directed by Meritorious Artist Quynh Trang - Director of the Contemporary Arts Theater. Notably, along with the performances of long-standing artists, the music night features two rising young stars: The Thien (niece of musician Trinh Cong Son) and Tlinh (young, talented female rapper) along with the Time Group, the Cloud Dance Group and the Hope Dance Group. The music night is hosted by MC Hong Nhung VTV and MC Chien Thang.

His music, with its immortal melodies and philosophical lyrics, will forever be an endless source of inspiration for those who love art. The program chose the Hanoi Opera House as the "Space to remember Trinh's music". With its inherent luxury and coziness, the Hanoi Opera House is a place where Trinh Cong Son's music resonates, soaring and elegant, just like the way the musician lived, loved, wrote music, and sang."

Musician Trinh Cong Son devoted his entire life to music. He left behind more than 600 songs. His music and poetry blended together amazingly well, creating musical works that captivated millions of hearts through many generations. In the music night “Do you still remember or have you forgotten”, once again, familiar songs by talented musician Trinh Cong Son will be performed before music lovers such as: Nắng thủy tinh, Đề gió cuốn đi, Xin mặt trời ngủ yen, Chiểu một minh qua phố, Tuổi đời vông, Diễm xua, O tro, Nho mua thu Hà Nội, Em đi bị lai cong đường, Cát bùi, Ru doan đi nhe, Hạ trắng…

Saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan - who was considered the youngest brother in the family by musician Trinh Cong Son and his siblings, and was assigned by his family to be the music director of programs about the musician for over 20 years, since the musician passed away. Regarding the program "Do you still remember or have you forgotten", artist Tran Manh Tuan said: "After many years of playing hundreds of Trinh songs, the melodies seem to have become ingrained in my blood. I was very moved when I was invited to perform at the music night commemorating the 24th anniversary of musician Trinh Cong Son's death and will perform 2 works"...

Singer Duc Tuan expressed: “I have sung Trinh's music many times, but every time I blend into those sweet, profound melodies, I have strange emotions, feeling new things in the lyrics. I realize that Trinh Cong Son's music is not only his own, but also a mirror reflecting the soul so that each person, when looking into it, sees a part of themselves. When singing, I not only want to convey my own emotions, but also want to immerse myself with the audience in Trinh Cong Son's musical space, together finding harmony and peace in the soul".
