On November 25, Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, received Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao, who was on a working visit to Ho Chi Minh City.
At the reception, Comrade Nguyen Van Nen highly appreciated the working visit to Ho Chi Minh City of Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao; at the same time, he emphasized that the visit is very meaningful in the context of Vietnam and China celebrating the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership with many successes and expectations.

Comrade Nguyen Van Nen shared that, together with ministries, branches and localities of the two countries, Ho Chi Minh City has actively realized the common viewpoint of the senior leaders of the two Parties and States of Vietnam and China on promoting relations between the two countries.
Sharing some results of the recent visit of the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation to China, as well as some highlights of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Nguyen Van Nen said that Ho Chi Minh City wishes to work with Chinese localities, especially those that have established friendly and cooperative relations with the city, to promote cooperation space and exploit the potential for cooperation between the parties, especially in the economic and trade fields.
Expressing his delight at the positive development in economic and trade relations between the two countries, Comrade Nguyen Van Nen stated that in order to realize the common viewpoint of the senior leaders of the two Parties and States on developing the good neighborly relationship between Vietnam and China, the two sides need to carry out practical activities, including economic and trade cooperation, creating favorable conditions for production and business activities of enterprises and people of the two countries. From there, it will contribute to deepening the cooperative relationship between the two countries and bringing about practical results.

Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao thanked the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for taking the time to receive him. Sharing some activities during his visit and working session in Vietnam this time, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said that his visit and working session in Ho Chi Minh City aimed to further promote the economic and trade cooperation between China and Vietnam in general, including localities of the two countries, contributing to realizing the cooperation policy of the two Parties and two States in the economic and trade fields.
Reviewing the import-export turnover results between China and Vietnam in 2023, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said that Vietnam is China's fourth largest trading partner. Emphasizing that China identifies the important role of economy and trade in the overall China-Vietnam relationship, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said that Chinese ministries, branches and localities are always interested in promoting trade cooperation with Vietnam. In particular, China always encourages and creates conditions for Chinese enterprises with potential to invest and expand investment in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to traditional cooperation areas, the two sides can focus on promoting cooperation in a number of new potential areas such as: Digital economy, green economy, e-commerce, etc. Introducing a number of international fairs and exhibitions in China, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao affirmed that China hopes that Ho Chi Minh City enterprises will participate in these programs, contributing to increasing opportunities for trade and investment promotion between the two sides.
