(VLO) According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province currently has 179 facilities (houses) raising swiftlets with a total floor area of 75,000m2.
Of which, Long Ho district has 30 establishments, Vung Liem district has 30 establishments, Tam Binh district has 29 establishments, Vinh Long city has 23 establishments, Binh Minh town has 18 establishments, Binh Tan district has 16 establishments, Mang Thit district has 21 establishments, Tra On district has 12 establishments, an increase of 13.3% (or an increase of 21 establishments) compared to the same period last year.
According to the assessment, most households raising swiftlets comply with regulations on farming areas, environmental protection and disease prevention. The agricultural sector has also created favorable conditions in terms of legal basis for households raising swiftlets to operate, while paying attention to inspecting and reminding owners of swiftlet farms to ensure compliance with regulations in their operations.
