(QNO) - This morning, April 21, at 24/3 Square, Tam Ky City People's Committee inaugurated the Community Digital Library and opened activities for Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), National Startup Year - Tam Ky 2023.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung; Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Vo Xuan Ca and comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and a large number of people and students of Tam Ky attended.
In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Nam emphasized that the city proactively connects and works with experts to consult on the design and operation of the Tam Ky Community Digital Library. Thereby, creating a reading space for the city's people, especially young people, contributing to the development of reading culture and the lifelong learning movement, while creating a cultural space that actively connects society, aiming to build a "Global Learning City" initiated by UNESCO. At the same time, leading the digital transformation, developing reading spaces in education and community activity centers.
“Today, the Tam Ky Community Digital Library officially came into operation. The Tam Ky Community Digital Library was built as part of the overall digital transformation and smart city program as well as creating community living spaces in the city. According to some experts, we know that this is the first community digital library in the country,” said Mr. Nam.
According to Mr. Nam, the community digital library is also a place to organize cultural and artistic exchange activities; exchange authors and works; inspire and spread reading culture to the community; a place to exchange and donate books.
To improve service quality and continue to develop community reading spaces, the City People's Committee has established the City Community Book Fund, mobilizing contributions, support, funding, books, items, etc. from philanthropists, businesses, organizations, individuals and the community. Although newly established, the fund has so far received a total value of more than 700 million VND, nearly 3,600 books and 5 computers.
In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), National Startup Year - Tam Ky 2023, Tam Ky City organized a series of activities from April 21 to 23 such as: displaying and introducing books from bookstores - publishers Alpha Book, Fahasa, Truth, Education, Synthesis; displaying and connecting startup products, OCOP of Tam Ky and neighboring districts; organizing a book introduction contest; youth cheerleading activities; guitar concert program.
In particular, the exchange program with startup book authors and the startup forum with the participation of experts and speakers such as Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa - Chairman of the National Association for Startup and Innovation, Nguyen Canh Binh - Founder and CEO of Alphabooks, expert Le Hung Anh - BIN group, expert Nguyen Huong Quynh - CEO of BambuUp, a platform for connecting innovation, expert Le My Nga - CEO of ABS group...
