
Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Dang Huy Huynh - Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, leaders of departments and many people of Huong Tra village.

The population of Dalbergia tomentosa - Indian Rosewood trees in Huong Tra village has an average age of over 100 years, including 12 ancient trees over 200 years old, cared for and preserved by Huong Tra people through generations...
In this preservation, there has been the attention and direction of the city government for over 20 years. In particular, the city has recognized the value of this native tree, so up to now, it has planted nearly 2,000 trees on the roads and in public spaces. At the same time, it has built and organized the annual festival "Tam Ky - Sua flower season".

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam - Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee, in order to better preserve the value of the ancient rosewood tree population in Huong Tra village, create a destination for eco-tourism, contribute to preserving the value of indigenous resources, and promote awareness of environmental protection.

Tam Ky, together with the Vietnam Museum of Nature, conducted a survey and prepared a proposal and was recognized by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment as a group of 9 Indian Rosewood trees in Huong Tra Eco-village as a group of Vietnamese Heritage Trees.
This is an honor and pride for the Party Committee, government and people of Tam Ky in general and Huong Tra village, Hoa Huong ward in particular; an important milestone for the conservation, preservation and development of the population of Dalbergia tonkinensis in Huong Tra village to a new page. This is also a rare opportunity to promote the development of Huong Tra eco-tourism at a higher level.

Expressing his joy when the Huong Tra Sua population was recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree, Professor, Dr. Dang Huy Huynh emphasized that in the current climate change conditions, the fact that Tam Ky people preserve and care for the green Sua trees that have grown well until today is very valuable and appreciated, contributing to environmental protection and building the Huong Tra eco-village.

At the ceremony, representatives of Huong Tra villagers received the Certificate of Vietnam Heritage Tree recognition for the population of 9 Indian Rosewood trees.
