On the evening of January 5, speaking with VietNamNet reporters, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that the unit had invited the driver who drove the car at 210km/h on the My Thuan - Can Tho highway to come and work.

Specifically, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) determined that the driver of the car was Mr. NHGB (born in 1987, residing in Tien Giang). The Mercedes car that Mr. NHGB was driving at a speed of 210km/h had the license plate number 51G-401.XX.

At the police station, the NHGB driver admitted to driving at high speed. The police also discovered that the driver was using a driver’s license that had expired since February 2015.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department said that driver B. drove at high speed with the purpose of filming a clip and posting it on TikTok.

Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 issued a ticket to driver B. for the following violations: "Driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit by more than 35km/h" and "Having a driver's license that has expired for 3 months or more".

Driver B. will be fined 10 - 12 million VND for speeding and 10 - 12 million VND for using a driver's license that has expired for 3 months or more.

Previously, on social network TikTok, a clip of more than 5 minutes long was circulated, recording a driver driving a car, allegedly on the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway at a very high speed, sometimes up to 210km/h. The driver drove the car at night, passing many vehicles traveling in the same direction.

Immediately after the above clip was spread on social networks, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 conducted verification to handle the incident according to regulations.
