As Thanh Nien reported, before that, Ms. U. was staying in Binh Trung Tay Ward, Thu Duc City (HCMC) and working as a janitor at Palm Heights Apartment (An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City). On the afternoon of September 29, the apartment building organized a Mid-Autumn Festival for the children living there. Ms. U. was given 2 moon cakes by the residents of the apartment building, and the organizers gave her cream puffs to bring back to her room and leave outside (not in the refrigerator).
On the morning of September 30, Ms. U. and her two children ate moon cakes and cream puffs. After eating, the three of them vomited and had diarrhea several times. That afternoon, all three went to a clinic near their home for a check-up and bought medicine, but the symptoms did not improve.
On the morning of October 1, all 3 mother and children went to Le Van Thinh Hospital (Thu Duc City) for examination, bought medicine, and went home for monitoring.
On October 1, PNQ (6 years old) continuously vomited and had diarrhea. Late that night, the family discovered that the child was cyanotic and had difficulty communicating, so they took him by motorbike to Le Van Thinh Hospital, but he later died and was taken to Ca Mau by his family for burial.
