Of the three victims of the tragic fire at Trung Kinh motel who are being treated at Bach Mai Hospital, Ms. NTK (85 years old) is the most serious patient and is being treated at the Intensive Care Center.

According to the treating doctor, Mrs. K's condition is still very serious, due to her old age and many underlying diseases. Doctors are currently trying their best to save the patient, but the prognosis is not yet good.

As the oldest victim rescued from the fire, Ms. K was taken to the Transport Hospital in a state of agitation, with impaired consciousness, skin and respiratory burns, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. The patient had difficulty breathing through the glottis, inhaled a lot of coal dust, metabolic acidosis, and myocardial damage. The elderly patient was in serious condition with complicated developments, so she was transferred from the Transport Hospital to Bach Mai Hospital.

Upon arrival at the Intensive Care Center of Bach Mai Hospital, Ms. K was in a state of severe respiratory failure, intubated, and on a ventilator. Due to inhalation of coal dust and black smoke, doctors performed a bronchoscopy and aspirated a lot of black coal dust and phlegm from the patient's bronchi and lungs as soon as she was admitted. Ms. K was prescribed dialysis, mechanical ventilation, feeding through a tube... The patient is currently being closely monitored by doctors.

The two patients being treated at the Poison Control Center, Ms. NTX (30 years old) and her husband NTK (35 years old), have recovered very well. Currently, both patients are receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy to prevent late mental and neurological complications. Three days earlier, the two patients were transferred from the Transport Hospital to Bach Mai Hospital, in a state of oxygen breathing and alertness. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nguyen - Director of the Poison Control Center, Bach Mai Hospital said: The patients inhaled a lot of coal dust and smoke, showing symptoms of poisoning such as vomiting, nausea, metabolic acidosis, coughing up activated charcoal, pneumonia, etc. After a day of active treatment, the pneumonia improved and the metabolic acidosis was gone.

At around 0:30 on May 24, two houses on a plot of land in Lane 119 Trung Kinh Street caught fire fiercely. Because the house was in a narrow alley, the fire department had difficulty accessing the scene. The horrific fire killed 14 people, injured 6 and was taken to the emergency room. Currently, only 3 patients are being treated at Bach Mai Hospital.
