It is expected that 2 toll stations on National Highway 13 will be located at the Binh Duong welcome gate and on the road leading to Phu Long bridge (Thuan An city, Binh Duong province).
According to this leader, the project to expand and upgrade National Highway 13 through Binh Duong province was started in April 2022, with a length of nearly 13km and an investment of nearly 1,360 billion VND, implemented in the form of BOT. The project is being resolutely directed by the provincial leaders.
Currently, there is a BOT station managed and operated by Becamex located on National Highway 13, right near the entrance to Phu Long Bridge.
It is expected that these two toll stations will be located at the Binh Duong welcome gate and on the road leading to Phu Long bridge, in Vinh Phu ward, Thuan An city, Binh Duong province.
Previously, Binh Duong province sent an official dispatch to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for comments on the arrangement plan of the two toll stations mentioned above.
Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport responded in writing to Binh Duong province, regarding the toll station at the Binh Duong welcome gate, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport stated that National Highway 13 connecting Binh Duong with Ho Chi Minh City has a very high traffic density, the planned location of the toll station is about 200m from Vinh Binh bridge pier, located in the area where the bridge entrance and exit has a steep slope and a curve.
Therefore, the HCM City Department of Transport recommends that the People's Committee of Binh Duong province direct relevant units to calculate and determine the actual traffic volume through the area to select a suitable location for the toll station. At the same time, it is necessary to study the expansion of the toll lane for cars from 3.5m to 3.75m, including the access road to the toll station...
Regarding the toll station on the road leading to Phu Long Bridge, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport also commented on Binh Duong province calculating and determining the actual traffic volume of vehicles passing through the bridge in order to study and determine the specific location for the toll station cluster on this section.
The location must ensure that during toll collection, traffic flow is not congested to the area of Phu Long bridge entrance, the intersection of Phu Long bridge approach road - Ha Huy Giap street (District 12) and the intersection of provincial road 745 - Binh Duong Boulevard.
Regarding the operation of the two toll stations, Ho Chi Minh City also requested Binh Duong province to organize toll collection to ensure that it is collected from the right subjects, avoiding double toll collection on the same route.
At the same time, it is necessary to assess the impact on people living in the area where the toll station is located in order to have support solutions and avoid complaints related to the location of the station.
