The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just sent a document to the City People's Committee regarding the settlement and response to voters' recommendations after the examination of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. Among them, there are opinions related to the division of primary school admission.
Voters believe that the online enrollment process ensures that students are assigned close to home, but the results are assigned to other localities or schools far from home, causing frustration among people.

Responding to this petition, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that in recent times, the Department has built a unified online enrollment system throughout the city. The unit also integrated GIS mapping technology to support the allocation of students based on the principle of prioritizing students near their homes, ensuring transparency and convenience in the enrollment process.
At the same time, the Department also arranges specialized staff to regularly support receiving and coordinating with local Departments of Education and Training to handle feedback and problems.
According to the management hierarchy, the authority to assign online enrollment routes for grades 1 and 6 belongs to the People's Committees of districts, towns and Thu Duc City. The assignment routes in each locality are implemented flexibly and in accordance with the school network planning, population density and physical conditions, and socio-economic characteristics of each area. Therefore, in some cases, the assignment results may not fully meet the people's wishes to be close to home.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to advise the City People's Committee to direct the People's Committees of districts, towns and Thu Duc City to increase investment and upgrade technology systems to support online enrollment.
The unit will also guide the Departments of Education and Training to create a reasonable route plan, ensuring harmony between people's wishes and the actual conditions of each locality.
