The above content was stated by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training at the 2025 Admissions and Career Counseling Festival held this morning (March 16) in Hanoi.
According to Mr. Ha, the Ministry of Education and Training has not yet had any official information on the proposal to move the high school graduation exam schedule earlier than expected. However, the Ministry always prepares flexible plans, depending on objective conditions.
"The high school graduation exam is a national exam, taking place simultaneously in 63 provinces and cities and is always prepared early and remotely. Therefore, there is no way each locality will organize a separate exam at a different time. If the exam schedule is changed compared to the plan, it will take place simultaneously in the provinces and cities," said Mr. Ha, adding that the preparation for the high school graduation exam has been decentralized to the local level.
Changing the exam schedule must be carefully calculated to have little impact on the entire system, especially candidates.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training emphasized that this year's graduation scores will include exam scores and high school students' academic scores at a ratio of 50/50. Therefore, students' academic scores are very important.
Regarding the 2025 high school graduation exam, Mr. Ha said that the exam will closely follow the high school education program, mainly the content of the 12th grade program and the content that continues from grades 10, 11 to grade 12.
"This year's exam will have differentiated questions that require solving practical problems. During the review process, students need to get used to reasoning and researching for any content that can be related to reality in order to meet the requirements of the exam," Mr. Ha noted.
Sharing about the new points in university admissions in 2025, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that candidates using the high school transcript admission method should pay attention to the new regulations. Specifically, from this year, schools must consider the academic results of the entire 12th grade year (instead of just taking the first semester score).
Therefore, compliance with the learning requirements of the high school program is very important to increase the chances of university admission.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung also noted that the current high school education program has a group of compulsory subjects and a group of elective subjects, depending on interests and career orientation. To increase admission opportunities and ensure fairness for candidates in different regions, the Ministry of Education and Training does not limit the combinations. In addition to the traditional admission combinations, training institutions can have new combinations.
Previously, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training submitted a document to the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, requesting to adjust the 10th grade entrance exam schedule and high school graduation in 2025 earlier than the announced schedule.
According to the Department, if the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam schedule is adjusted earlier this year, it will facilitate the preparation work of localities to implement it safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations; ensuring the rights and psychological stability of students.
