SIU Prize Week Welcomes International Speakers

SIU Prize Week 2025, taking place from January 4 to 11, is a series of academic events, including seminars on artificial intelligence combined with the SIU Prize Computer Science season 1 award ceremony.


SIU Prize Week hopes to promote innovative AI research in shaping the future

SIU Prize (www.siuprize.org) was established in 2023 by the founding council of the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE), managed by Saigon International University (www.siu.edu.vn) and sponsored by Asian International School (www.asianschool.edu.vn), awarded every 2 years for outstanding discoveries in the fields of Health Sciences and Computer Science, with a total value of up to 10 billion VND/season.

Gathering many great characters

The week kicked off with the “Law on Artificial Intelligence” and “AI Systems in Education and Healthcare” workshops, which took place on January 4 and 8, 2025, respectively, at Saigon International University. The events focused on the legal and ethical aspects of AI, and how AI is revolutionizing two core areas of society.

In particular, an international conference gathering many world-class figures will take place on January 11, 2025 with the message "SIU Shaping Futures". The focus of the conference revolves around global current issues such as: Developing safe and sustainable AI; Augmented intelligence systems combining natural intelligence and artificial intelligence; and Governments using AI to best serve citizens.

Attracted over 100 nominations

Closing the SIU Prize Week 2025 will be the SIU Prize Computer Science Season 1 Award Ceremony , taking place on the evening of January 11, 2025 at Dien Hong Theater - Saigon International University (SIU). The event honors prestigious award categories awarded to young Vietnamese and Vietnamese-origin scientists around the world with excellent doctoral theses, successfully defended within 5 years in the field of Computer Science.

The award-winning PhDs represent the quintessence of the young Vietnamese generation globally in the fields of science and technology, AI, IoT with excellent theses and many patents and solutions that are being and will be applied in high-tech countries and corporations, demonstrating great potential to create breakthrough innovations in solving core problems of the world today, especially in education, healthcare and the environment.

In its first season, SIU Prize Computer Science attracted more than 100 nominations from 19 countries and territories. Outstanding doctoral theses were in a variety of fields: Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Network and Information Security, Telecommunication Engineering, IoT, Bioinformatics... with outstanding application potential and influence.

The SIU Prize Computer Science Expert Council consists of professors, scientists, and leading experts from prestigious universities, research institutes, and businesses around the world.

With the mission "For Vietnamese knowledge" and the connection from many leading professors and outstanding scientists from Vietnam and the world, the International Conference Week and SIU Prize Computer Science Award Ceremony season 1 is expected to contribute to affirming the position of Vietnamese intelligence in the global scientific community.

SIU Prize Week 2025 brings together special guests

The SIU Prize Computer Science International Conference Week and Award Ceremony Season 1 welcomed many policy makers, leaders, scholars and world-class figures such as:

Professor Alondra Nelson - member of the US National Science Council, senior advisor on artificial intelligence to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, professor at the Institute for Advanced Study - Princeton; former Deputy Assistant to US President Joe Biden ;

Mr. Ramu Damodaran - Permanent Observer of the University for Peace (UPEACE) at the United Nations,

Mr. Sharad Sharma - Senior Advisor on Artificial Intelligence to the United Nations Secretary-General, Member of the National Startup Advisory Council (India), Co-founder of iSPIRT Foundation;
