Appearing cheerfully in a clip longer than 1 minute, Nhan Kha Ai (29 years old, living in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) in jeans and a striped T-shirt, like a little bird chirping: "Hello everyone, today we will try on clothes.

This Vietnamese brand mostly has simple designs, made of elastic cardboard. This shirt is quite flattering, has a smaller waist, is more elastic, and is soft and comfortable." In addition to the joy of a youthful job with income, she also thinks she contributes to spreading Vietnamese products.

"Hello everyone, today we will..."

As she spoke, Ai approached the camera and gently pulled the fabric so viewers could see the color and texture better. In the comments section, many young people asked for details about the brand name and material. Some asked for recommendations on party dresses, complimented the channel owner on her beauty, or commented on the outfit in the clip.

Everything happens online but it's just like friends chatting animatedly in real life.

On TikTok, images of pretty girls wearing dresses, accessories, commenting on new clothing designs from brands... have become familiar to viewers.

With youthful language and friendly style, young people like Kha Ai are often called KOC - Key opinion consumer - key consumers, influencing a segment of consumers on social networks.

You experience products and services and give comments based on your personal opinion, creating trust for viewers with authenticity.

Loving fashion and having a lot of clothes, Ai created a TikTok channel named after herself during the Covid-19 pandemic, revolving around fashion products.

"I have a rule of not accepting too many contracts from brands to avoid boring content and losing its own color. Accepting advertisements is a decision from both sides, whether I feel the requirements and direction from the brand are suitable for the channel's content or not," she shared.

Currently, Ai's channel has more than 262,000 followers. Most of the clothes and accessories in her videos are either bought by herself or gifts from brands.

According to Ai, if the product does not match the channel's style, she will return it, so she never feels that her channel has lost its authenticity.

"For content with advertisements from big brands, I still balance to make sure the advertisement is really suitable for me and the viewer," she said.

Nguyen Dang Thien Tue (21 years old, student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law) also created the TikTok Thien Tue channel when he was in high school, initially just for entertainment and posting trending dance clips.

Admitting that it was luck, Tue's clips mostly had between 20,000 and over 200,000 views, so brands knew about them and offered to cooperate. At that time, Tue was a bit shy, afraid that she wasn't good enough, so she tried it after a while.

Nowadays, the pretty girl often receives more fashion product reviews than cosmetics. She said: "Brands will make requests such as clip length, logos must not be covered, providing necessary information about the product...".

However, like Kha Ai, Tue believes that viewers' trust in the channel owner is important.

"I accept reviews of suitable products with clear information and origin. I will experience them myself before sharing. Most of all, I know that when viewers buy that product, they already trust me," she said.

It's both work and fun.

When making clips, girls like Tue always make sure the outfit is filmed in great detail. "For example, a shirt is filmed from both the front and back, and the material and pattern must be shown as fully as possible," she said.

When accepting a brand, Tue considers the deadline for releasing the video. If it is too urgent or she is busy during that time, she will decline, to ensure that the clips are always well-prepared. After filming, she sends a preview to the brand, who will give feedback and discuss the time to post it on TikTok.

Tue's videos are both youthful and interwoven with everyday stories. "I had an idea, I study at this school but have never seen anyone record a diary of a day at school here, why don't I try filming? And what a day at work is like. So I picked up my phone and filmed," she recalls with a laugh. Tue edited the clip and added music herself.

"To attract viewers, I think each video must have certain content, an easy-to-listen voice, and vivid, clear images," Tue concluded. According to her, this job is not very stressful, partly because she is not as professional as KOLs (people with great influence). At the same time, she is still in school, so this is just an after-hours activity with an income at the level of "drinking milk tea".

Similarly, Kha Ai shared that she always keeps making videos fun, so the content will be like a daily conversation between her and her friends. Her main job is to help her family with the business, so Ai shared: "I'm still balancing to keep making a TikTok channel at the hobby level."

Help more people know Vietnamese brands

One of the great joys in the process of Kha Ai creating content is supporting and helping many domestic fashion brands become more known and have the opportunity to develop. Being supported and loved by followers is also one of the motivations that helps her appear beautiful on social networks.

"When wearing clothes from these brands, I have never received any fees for supporting them. For me, it is a way to show support for young people starting a business in the fashion industry in Vietnam," Ai said.

Working in an office, Ms. Huynh Tu (40 years old) created the TikTok channel Honey1512 in early 2023, initially for entertainment and learning based on spontaneous inspiration. After that, she oriented the content to be positive, humorous and received more acceptance from everyone.

Viewers love the clips of her wearing office clothes and street fashion from long-standing Vietnamese brands such as Thai Hoa, AAA Jeans, Gumac...

She said: "At first, I bought and shared what I used. Then brands often sent me sample products, and if I found them suitable, I would create a clip to share. But because I don't have much time or professional investment, I'm still doing freelance reviews and don't accept advertising contracts. Later, when I have more time, I will consider it."

The content is simple and close to her own experiences, so every day Ms. Tu spends an hour filming clips before going to work, without needing to write a script in advance.

Editing, adding music... takes her about 15 minutes, so she creates 1-2 clips every day. According to her, the income from affiliate marketing (creating videos, adding product links to shopping carts) is there but not much, but she is very happy because it exceeds her initial expectations.

Send positive messages

Not only about fashion and product testing, the channels of these dynamic girls also convey the message of living a happy, healthy life and encourage the spirit of "Vietnamese people using Vietnamese products".

As Ms. Huynh Tu confided: "I oriented the channel to convey positive, natural content, conveying personal life messages that when positive, we may not be able to change the world but we will change ourselves. Optimism helps us face difficulties gently, and find solutions more easily."
