Doctors at Phu Quoc City Medical Center examined and diagnosed hemorrhagic shock due to placenta previa and bleeding in a 21-week (4.5-month) fetus. Doctors then performed emergency surgery in the hope of saving the mother's life.
Due to excessive blood loss, the mother M. suffered from a blood clotting disorder. The mother M.'s blood type is O+ and it is difficult to find a compatible match.
At around 10pm on March 23, on the Phu Quoc Facebook community, there was a post calling for O+ blood donations to save a pregnant woman M. who was experiencing hemorrhage.
After that, hundreds of people living and working in Phu Quoc went to Phu Quoc City Medical Center to get tested and donate blood to save the pregnant woman M..
