Saudi Arabia Cristiano Ronaldo got angry with the referee during Al Nassr's win, before pushing away a fan who wanted to take a photo with him.
Ronaldo was reportedly unhappy when the referee denied Al Nassr several penalties in their match against Shabab Al Ahli (UAE) in the AFC Champions League play-off round. Al Nassr won the match 4-2 after being down 1-2.
When his anger reached its peak, Ronaldo shouted at the referee and said: "Wake up". When it was time to leave the field, the Portuguese superstar could not control himself. When he saw a fan wearing a badge, possibly an official or a reporter, taking a selfie with his image behind, Ronaldo pushed this person aside.
This is not the first time Ronaldo has expressed his displeasure since playing for Al Nassr. In March, the Portuguese captain kicked two water bottles on his way off the pitch after a defeat to Al Ittihad. In July, he caused controversy when he threw water at a TV reporter who pointed his camera at him for too long.
Ronaldo has scored 20 goals in 27 appearances for Al Nassr in all competitions since joining the club in January. However, the 38-year-old striker has been silent for three consecutive matches, contributing to Al Nassr losing their opening two matches of the 2023-2024 Saudi Pro League against Al Ettifaq and AlTaawon.
On August 12, Ronaldo scored a brace to help Al Nassr defeat Al Hilal 2-1 in the Arab Club Champions Cup final. This is the first title he has won since coming to play in Saudi Arabia. In the Saudi Pro League last season, Ronaldo and his teammates finished second behind Al Ittihad.
With the win over Shabab Al Ahli, Ronaldo's Al Nassr became one of three Saudi Arabian clubs to qualify for the AFC Champions League this season, alongside Al Ittihad and National Cup winners Al Hilal. Al Nassr will next face Al Fateh on August 25 before facing Al Shabab the following week.
