In particular, for the first time, a national domain name registration propaganda booth “.vn” appeared on Hoan Kiem Lake walking street to provide domain names and accompanying online services (Website, email, etc.) to people from now until the end of 2023.

Special preferential policy for domain names “.id.vn” and “.biz.vn”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang, Director of Vietnam Internet Center, said that implementing the policy of promoting the development of the national domain name “.vn” assigned by the Prime Minister in the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030, VNNIC has built a program to initiate digital identification with national domain names, with the highlight being the projects “Identifying digital faces with the domain name id.vn” and “Identifying digital brands with the domain name biz.vn” along with special preferential policies in registration and use.

The national domain name “.id.vn” was created exclusively for young people with special preferential policies, in order to meet the needs of creating digital identities and building brands on the internet. Specifically, there will be no fee for using the domain name “.id.vn” for 2 years from the date the domain name is granted to registrants who are Vietnamese citizens aged 18 to 23. Thus, young people and students aged 18 to 23 can take advantage of this opportunity at a cost of 0 VND to experience and improve digital skills, find job opportunities, connect with the community through building their own personal brand on the internet with a personal website associated with the domain name “id.vn”.

For businesses (newly established within 1 year from the date of domain name registration) and business households (with business licenses) when registering the domain name “.biz.vn” will also enjoy the preferential treatment of free use for 2 years from the date the domain name is granted. Small and medium enterprises, individual business households can build, develop their brands, do online business with digital services using the domain name “biz.vn”...

Mr. Trinh Hoang Tung, Vice Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, said that this is a very meaningful event in the digital transformation process for Hoan Kiem District in particular and Hanoi City in general. Mr. Trinh Hoang Tung said that with the large number of business households in Hoan Kiem District and the preferential policies of VNNIC, it will be a good opportunity for people in the district to take advantage of building digital brands, digital identities, and developing businesses in cyberspace.

From now until the end of 2023, the national domain name registration propaganda counter “.vn” will be maintained on Hoan Kiem Lake walking street at 2 Le Thai To, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi on weekends to propagate and guide the use of national domain names; free domain names will be issued to subjects under the incentive program. The system of national domain name registrars “.vn” will directly advise and provide services to people.
