On the afternoon of September 25, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to launch the program: Safe and reliable online presence with the national domain name “.vn”, for Vietnamese youth nationwide.

This activity is concretized by 2 website design contests with the national domain name “.vn” for individuals and grassroots organizations.

Accordingly, the Youth Media Center (Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union) and the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC, Ministry of Information and Communications) will organize a website design contest with the theme "Creative Youth" for Youth Union organizations and "Youth Diary" for Youth Union members.

With this program, the Ministry of Information and Communications commits to accompany the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, youth organizations, and individual youth union members in building and developing an online presence.

Each website using the domain name ".vn" will become a powerful tool, helping young people reach out more deeply to the community, creating useful values ​​for society.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam, the young generation is the pioneer in accessing and applying technology, therefore, the Youth Union also needs to grasp new and modern communication trends to increase the effectiveness in propagating and conveying meaningful messages to the whole society.

One of the important digital communication tools that must be available is a website with the national domain name “.vn”. Using a website with the domain name “.vn” not only affirms the online presence, ensures the safety, reliability and prestige of individuals and organizations, but also is a manifestation of national pride.

The ".vn" domain name is a national Internet resource, representing the image of Vietnam on the world Internet map. Using the national domain name ".vn" also contributes to building and protecting national digital sovereignty in cyberspace.

“ Each youth union member and organization needs to be aware of the importance of building and maintaining an online presence associated with the Vietnamese national domain name “.vn”. The popularization of the national domain name “.vn” and digital services to the entire population, especially the young generation, has become the goal that the Ministry of Information and Communications is aiming for ”, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam hopes that each Youth Union official and member will be an ambassador, proactive, pioneering, actively participating, and at the same time mobilizing people to use the domain name “.vn”, contributing to popularizing the national domain name and accelerating the digital transformation process.

Sharing at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said that this is an important event, contributing to equipping skills, improving capacity and propaganda effectiveness of the Youth Union in the era of technology 4.0.

Equipping Youth Union officials, members and young people with digital knowledge and skills will contribute to forming a young generation with correct awareness, dynamism, creativity, and readiness to face the challenges of the 4.0 industrial revolution, thereby improving the country's competitiveness.

Sharing with the youth union members, Mr. Thai Huu Ly, Head of Domain Name Development Department (VNNIC) said that digital capacity is an important skill that the youth union members need to equip themselves with. However, the digital skills of young people sitting in school are still lacking and weak due to lack of proper attention from both the school and society perspectives.

In that context, the Ministry of Information and Communications has initiated the popularization of the national domain name “.vn” to the whole society so that all people and businesses can access and exploit the domain name “.vn” in life.

“ Youth union members aged 18-23 will be given 2 years of free domain name, email and website platform usage. If you are not in this group, you only need to pay a very low fee, only 50,000/year to use the domain name “id.vn”. Young people can use the national domain name “.vn” to build their personal brand and future business activities ”, Mr. Thai Huu Ly shared.
