Quang Ngai prioritizes transport infrastructure projects

To improve traffic infrastructure and increase regional connectivity, Quang Ngai province decided to spend hundreds of billions of VND to upgrade traffic infrastructure in Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Identifying investment in transportation as a breakthrough task

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Quang Ngai province identifies investment in transport infrastructure as one of the breakthrough tasks, an important requirement to promote development, trade of goods, and serve the travel needs of the people.

According to Mr. Giang, in the recent period, Quang Ngai has invested in many infrastructure development projects, especially traffic projects. Notably, the province has implemented a series of large traffic projects with investment capital of over 10,000 billion VND such as Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road; Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road; Tra Khuc 3 bridge; Thach Bich - Tinh Phong road...

During the implementation process, the locality encountered many challenges such as compensation and site clearance. However, Quang Ngai province has gradually focused on removing these bottlenecks, completing the projects early and putting them into operation to effectively promote investment resources.

“The province will make the most of its resources to continue investing in infrastructure, especially transportation projects that have been included in the public investment plan. This is a requirement for local development,” Mr. Giang shared.

Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 1320/QD-TTg, promulgating the Plan to implement the Quang Ngai Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, Quang Ngai will prioritize investment in infrastructure projects that have the potential to create great spillover effects, especially the province's strategic transport infrastructure. The Quang Ngai Department of Transport said that in order to achieve the transport investment target as planned, the locality will closely follow the orientation of the national planning, develop a synchronous, modern, and interconnected transport infrastructure, and promote regional connectivity.

“Changing the clothes” of Dung Quat Economic Zone’s traffic infrastructure

As a place where many large projects and driving forces of the province converge, the traffic infrastructure of Dung Quat Economic Zone is quite narrow. The project to upgrade and expand the traffic infrastructure system in Dung Quat Economic Zone was approved by the People's Council of Quang Ngai province in investment policy, contributing significantly to removing this barrier. The project is invested by the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and industrial parks of Quang Ngai province, with a total investment of 350 billion VND, investment progress 2024 - 2027.

A series of routes will be invested in upgrading and expanding, including: Tri Binh - Thien Dang roundabout route; Thien Dang - Chu Lai roundabout route; Route connecting National Highway 1A - Tinh Phong - Binh Tan (phase I); Lam Vien - Van Tuong route...

According to Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien, the Project to Upgrade and Expand the Traffic Infrastructure System in Dung Quat Economic Zone aims to gradually complete traffic routes and technical infrastructure according to the planning; ensure smooth connection between Dung Quat Economic Zone and surrounding areas, promptly meet the needs of transporting goods, supplies, materials and production and business activities of enterprises in the area.

At the same time, this project also contributes to creating favorable conditions for attracting investment, developing socio-economy; strengthening security - defense, and traffic safety for people in the area.

“The Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board, as the project investor, actively coordinates with relevant departments, branches and localities to review and focus on investing in the construction of urgent projects in order of priority; focuses on site clearance work, not to affect the project implementation progress; ensures resources to complete the project on time and ensure quality,” said Mr. Hien.

Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang confided that he himself is concerned about developing the province's tourism industry when there is Ly Son Island and many other famous landscapes. However, for tourism to develop, there must be good infrastructure, beautiful and smooth connecting roads, modern seaport infrastructure and other infrastructure.

“Therefore, the province will allocate resources to invest in transport infrastructure connecting with tourist destinations in a reasonable manner to create momentum for tourism to break through and develop to its full potential. When tourism develops, it will create livelihoods for local people and other related activities will develop together,” Mr. Giang shared.
