Recently, the inter-village road from the gate of Luc Phu village to the end of Cao Lan village (adjacent to Hai Tien - Po Hen road) in Bac Son commune (Mong Cai city) has seriously degraded, significantly affecting travel and trade, becoming a major barrier to local socio-economic development.

The inter-village road from the Luc Phu village gate to the end of Cao Lan village of Bac Son commune, adjacent to Hai Tien - Po Hen road, is about 7km long and more than 3m wide. Along the road, there are more than 100 households with nearly 1,000 people living. The road is small, winding, and the road surface is full of jagged rocks. It is known that this road is muddy when it rains, and when it is sunny, every time a vehicle passes, it carries a lot of dust.
As the main road leading to the primary school, secondary school, health station and the commune People's Committee headquarters, there are many vehicles passing by every day. After a long time of use, this road has not been upgraded or repaired, so most of the road surface has peeled off, and there have been many traffic accidents here.
Mr. Bui Anh Tu (Luc Phu village, Bac Son commune) said: Currently, there are more than 60 households in Cao Lan village, while the schools are no longer in use and are concentrated in the commune center, so the travel of people, as well as students to the commune center and school is very difficult, with potential risks, a number of traffic accidents have occurred on this route, people are worried. We hope that the city and authorities will consider repairing the road to reduce the hardship for people...

It is known that this is one of the roads invested by Forestry 42 under the National Defense Economic Group 327 since 2008, nearly 20 years ago. Every year, the locality also repairs it, but due to limited funding, only damaged areas are repaired, so the overall road is still patchy and degraded. Faced with this situation, local people have repeatedly petitioned the Commune People's Committee, proposed opinions at voter meetings, with the hope that authorities at all levels will soon pay attention to investing in the road to serve the traffic needs of the people, ensuring the criteria of the new rural area.
However, currently, the resources for communes to repair, renovate and upgrade degraded roads are still limited, especially in border areas. Mr. Vuong Duc Cuong, Vice Chairman of Bac Son Commune People's Committee, said: The locality has submitted a report to the city requesting investment policy for the road. We hope that in the coming time, the city will upgrade and renew the road to ensure safety, convenience, and meet the requirements of local socio-economic development.
Transportation is considered the lifeblood of local socio-economic development, especially in remote, isolated, and border communes. Hopefully, with many solutions, Mong Cai City will pay attention to fulfilling the urgent needs of the people regarding transportation works.
