Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed a decision to recognize Tien Lang district and An Lao district, Hai Phong city, as meeting the standards of advanced new rural districts in 2024.
Accordingly, Tien Lang district has completed 9/9 criteria for an advanced new rural district according to regulations. The new rural development program has changed the face of the district, with an average income expected to reach 78 million VND/person/year by the end of 2024 and no more poor households according to the new standards.
The rate of population participating in health insurance reached 94.5%, with 44 schools meeting national standards. The district has invested heavily in transport infrastructure, with 69 km of commune roads paved or concreted, and many industrial parks planned.
By 2025, Tien Lang will continue to improve the quality of new rural criteria, with the target of an average income of 85 million VND/person/year, 100% of households using clean water and classifying waste at source.
In 2025, Tien Lang district sets a goal that by 2025, 100% of communes in the district will meet the criteria of a model new rural area.
Tien Lang district is focusing on investing in criteria to help improve the quality of advanced new rural construction, moving towards a comprehensive new rural model.
In particular, the average income per capita increased from 1.5 - 2 times compared to 2020; the district has no more poor households; 100% of people have access to clean water...; creating a solid foundation for Tien Lang to become a town in the near future.

After 14 years of implementing the new rural construction program (2011-2024), the total resources to implement the program in Tien Lang district are 14,388 billion VND, including 4,991 billion VND of budget capital, accounting for 34.69%; 2,669 billion VND of combined capital from other project programs; 1,083 billion VND of community capital contribution.
Along with Tien Lang district, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also signed a decision to recognize An Lao district, Hai Phong city, as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024, marking an important development milestone for this locality.
This result is the result of the efforts of the cadres, party members and people of An Lao district. In 2023, after being recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting the new rural standards, An Lao district urgently reviewed and completed the criteria to aim for a higher goal: advanced new rural areas.
By December 2024, the entire district will have 9 communes recognized by the city as model new rural communes; 15/15 communes will be recognized as advanced new rural communes.
