"Promoting the spirit of self-study, lifelong learning, and building a comprehensive learning society is also a key task" is one of the new human development orientations towards 2045 of General Secretary To Lam.

Recently, General Secretary To Lam has just published an article titled "The Future for the Rising Generation" which has received much attention. Among many new human development orientations towards 2045, General Secretary To Lam stated: The period from 2025 to 2045 is only 20 years. The children born during this period will be the young people of the new generation, the future owners of a prosperous and developed Vietnam.

To move towards 2045 with the vision of a comprehensively developed Vietnam, orienting human development, especially the young generation, becomes a strategic priority. First of all, it is necessary to invest heavily in education and training to develop intelligence and knowledge. The education system must be extensively reformed, focusing on developing creative skills, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), foreign languages, digital skills and modern technology. Intellectual education must go hand in hand with cultural, ethical and aesthetic education to form well-rounded individuals.

At the same time, the General Secretary emphasized: " Promoting the spirit of self-study, lifelong learning, and building a comprehensive learning society is also a key task. To build an elite force, we also need special policies to attract young talents to return from abroad, building a workforce capable of global competitiveness."

Sharing with PV of Dan Viet newspaper, Master Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Director of the Center for Admissions and Business Relations, University of Finance - Marketing said: "The article of General Secretary To Lam reflects a very important viewpoint in human development, especially in the context of modern education. "Promoting the spirit of self-study, lifelong learning, comprehensive learning" is not only the task of individuals but also the task of educational institutions, including universities.

Like other educational institutions, the University of Finance and Marketing certainly also focuses on developing the spirit of self-study and lifelong learning for students. Encouraging students to actively learn, not only through formal classes but also through extracurricular activities, scientific research, internships and supplementary courses will help students develop comprehensively in knowledge, skills and qualities.

In addition, the school also creates a flexible learning environment, supporting students to access diverse and modern learning resources. At the same time, the school also implements many practical learning activities at businesses, specialized career orientation sessions and access to new knowledge in the digital transformation period to help students adapt, develop creative thinking, and their own capacity in the context of globalization and today's digital economy. Each individual is always in the spirit of self-study and self-research to supplement and improve their professional knowledge in the most complete way.

The impact of digital education on lifelong learning

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Vice Rector of the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, commented: In today's era, when digital technology and artificial intelligence are developing at a dizzying speed, building a digital education ecosystem, open education, smart education is not only an inevitable trend but also an urgent requirement to create a breakthrough in innovation and promote the spirit of lifelong self-learning of learners.

Global trends and Vietnam's needs: From a global perspective, many countries have been investing heavily in building a digital education ecosystem. OECD (2021) pointed out that a sustainable digital education ecosystem needs to integrate technology, policies, and digital capabilities of teachers and learners.

Countries such as the US, Finland, and Singapore have developed integrated platforms such as Google Classroom, ThingLink, and the Smart Nation Platform, which help connect teachers, students, and parents in a comprehensive digital environment. These models have demonstrated the great potential of the digital education ecosystem in improving the quality of education and promoting innovation. Vietnam, with significant advances in digital transformation, also needs to quickly catch up with this trend.

Meaning of digital education ecosystem: Digital education ecosystem is an integrated learning environment where individuals can access knowledge and learning resources from all over the world. It includes not only online learning platforms but also learning support tools such as artificial intelligence, big data and mobile applications. An effective digital education ecosystem will help personalize learning, improve the efficiency of learning and teaching, and create a flexible and open learning environment.

The impact of digital education on lifelong learning: Digital education and open education can create an ideal learning environment to promote lifelong learning. With the support of digital technology, students can choose their own learning content according to their needs and pace. Online learning platforms provide a wide range of learning materials, from videos, lectures, to exercises and tests. This helps students learn and test their knowledge effectively. In addition, digital education also facilitates students to access knowledge sources from all over the world, broadening their horizons and understanding.

The role of smart education: Smart education, with the support of artificial intelligence and big data, can personalize learning for each individual. Artificial intelligence can analyze each student's learning data to recommend the most suitable learning content. Big data can help teachers and education administrators better understand students' learning needs and trends, thereby adjusting and improving the learning program. Smart education not only helps improve the efficiency of learning but also creates a learning environment that stimulates students' curiosity and desire to learn.

Current situation and challenges in Vietnam: However, in Vietnam, the construction of a digital education ecosystem and smart education still faces many challenges. A major challenge is the synchronization in implementation between localities. In big cities, the application of digital technology is quite favorable, but in rural and mountainous areas, infrastructure and equipment conditions are still limited. In addition, the application of artificial intelligence in personalized learning and the exploitation of big data to analyze and improve students' learning process are not yet popular.

To build an effective digital education ecosystem, open education, and smart education, there needs to be a harmonious combination of policies, infrastructure, resources, and technology. The State needs to issue policies to encourage investment in digital infrastructure and training of human resources in digital technology. Educational institutions need to actively apply digital technology and artificial intelligence to teaching and learning. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the dissemination of knowledge about digital technology and artificial intelligence to students.

"General Secretary To Lam pointed out that "Promoting the spirit of self-study, lifelong learning, and comprehensive learning is a key task". To achieve this task, building a digital education ecosystem, open education, and smart education is an important step. It not only helps personalize learning and improve learning efficiency, but also creates an ideal learning environment to promote the spirit of lifelong self-study of learners. With the efforts of the whole society, Vietnam can build an effective digital education and smart education ecosystem, contributing to the cause of innovation and sustainable development of the country", Associate Professor Nam expressed.
