On November 26 (local time), within the framework of his working visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with President of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade at the Danish Parliament Headquarters (Copenhagen, Denmark).
Speaker of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade expressed his pleasure at welcoming Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and the Vietnamese delegation, and believed that the visit would be of great significance in contributing to the effective implementation of the frameworks of the Comprehensive Partnership and Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Expressing his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic achievements over the past decades, bringing Vietnam to strong development and deep international integration, National Assembly Chairman Soren Gade affirmed that Denmark considers Vietnam an important partner in the region and an ideal destination for Danish investors.
The President of the Danish Parliament hopes that the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Partnership will continue to be strengthened and move towards a new height.
The Danish Parliamentary leaders positively appreciated the role of the Vietnamese community in Denmark, as good, hard-working citizens who have made many contributions to the locality.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha sincerely thanked the Speaker of the Danish Parliament for the warm and respectful reception given to the Vietnamese delegation; affirmed that in its foreign policy, Vietnam always attaches importance to Denmark and wishes to effectively implement the established frameworks of relations between the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assessed that cooperation between the two countries is developing extensively and effectively in all fields, especially in the strategic fields of climate and environment, as demonstrated by the important cooperation frameworks that the two sides have established such as the Strategic Partnership in the fields of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Green Growth (2011), Comprehensive Partnership (2013) and Green Strategic Partnership (2023), creating an important foundation to bring the bilateral relationship to a new height.
Discussing bilateral relations, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and President of the Danish Parliament Soren Gade welcomed the positive developments in the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark in recent times; agreed that in the coming time, the two countries need to continue to effectively implement the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and urge the parliaments of the remaining member states of the European Union (EU) to soon ratify the Vietnam - EU Bilateral Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested that the two sides promote cooperation in areas where Denmark has strengths and are suitable to Vietnam's development priorities, especially in renewable energy, green growth, infrastructure development, marine economy, and circular economy.
The two sides agreed to increase the exchange of high-ranking delegations of the National Assembly and specialized committees, and establish a Friendship Parliamentarians' Group to exchange and share information and experience in the fields of legislation and supervision.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha respectfully conveyed the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to National Assembly Chairman Soren Gade to visit Vietnam at a suitable time. National Assembly Chairman Soren Gade happily accepted the invitation.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed his respect for many generations of Danish people who have supported the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence in the past as well as the country's current construction and development; and requested the Danish Parliament and Government to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Denmark to live and do business, helping to promote their role as an important bridge in the friendly relations between the two countries.
