(QNO) - On the morning of March 23, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu made a survey trip to Cu Lao Cham (Tan Hiep commune, Hoi An city) and worked with relevant units.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area Management Board gave an overview of the tourism recovery situation in Cu Lao Cham, the implementation of projects supporting the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve of international organizations, the effectiveness and prospects of replicating the co-management model in Bai Huong sub-area.

During the time affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, biodiversity conservation as well as resource and resource restoration still received support from indigenous communities as well as the companionship of many international projects.
In 2020, the Provincial People's Committee issued regulations on the management of Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area to zoning for exploitation and reasonable conservation of resources and benefits belonging to the biosphere reserve.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu requested the units participating in the survey to absorb the opinions and recommendations of the locality. In particular, pay attention to promoting work with the Korean Fisheries Resources Agency (FIRA) to meet the conditions for implementing phase 2 of the project to establish a model for managing and developing coastal aquatic resources to expand across the province (phase 1 was implemented in Hoi An city); research to establish other co-management models similar to Bai Huong sub-area.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu also surveyed the landslide situation on the eastern coast road around the island. This road has been severely eroded, completely cutting off the area near Eo Gio since last year's storm season.
