Delegates attending the conference were provided with information by Master of Law Nguyen Trung Hieu - Director, Managing Lawyer of Bach Luat Law Firm LLC on the legal regulations of CPTPP for the Canadian market; made necessary recommendations for businesses, thereby promoting the export of goods of the province to the Canadian market; exchanged many related information...

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement was officially signed in March 2018 by 11 member countries and took effect in Vietnam from January 14, 2019. CPTPP is a new generation free trade agreement with extensive commitments, having a great impact on member countries in particular and world trade in general, accounting for more than 13% of the total global GDP, with a lot of export potential for businesses to take advantage of and exploit, especially for a large economy like Canada.

In 2024, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the CPTPP market is estimated to reach 102.1 billion USD, up 6.8% compared to 2023, accounting for 13.1% of the total import-export turnover. Of which, exports to Canada will reach over 6.37 billion USD, up 13.5% compared to 2023.

Vietnam is currently Canada’s 7th largest import partner. If only counting ASEAN, Vietnam is currently Canada’s most important import partner, accounting for nearly 45% of Canada’s total import turnover from the region. Therefore, the Canadian market still has a lot of potential for Vietnamese enterprises in general and Dong Thap province enterprises in particular to exploit.
